The food and service was good. It was very busy, but with just the 2 of us we had no problem getting a table. Drinks were very good. Maybe a little pricey but still very good.
This is in amazing location. You can have dinner and people watch as well. Our food and drinks were great. We were told to have Mexican in Old Town and this was a great choice!
We visited on a Sunday lunchtime. The restaurant has plenty of seats inside and outside. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. Nachos and ample salsa the end up on the table very soon after we sat down.We ordered chicken enchiladas and vegetable fajitas. Both came with rice and beans. The food arrived quickly. Before the food arrived the staff came and took some photos, then turned up a few minutes later with the photos for sale ($20 per photo). This was unnecessary and as we didn't want the photos, presumably they just went in the bin. Such a waste. The food was good and very filling. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience. The photograph selling was the only low point.
The service was fantastic and the food was so good! The margaritas were amazing! The homemade tortillas were so good also! We will be back!
We came here after a day on the Trolley around San Diego and it was very busy. Even with a long line we were seated within about 10 minutes as the restaurant is very large. Our server was pleasant and attending throughout the meal. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were average but arrived promptly (red wine and an original margarita). The chips arrived right away and were fresh and hot. I ordered the Pork Pozole soup and it was very good...lots of hominy and spices and cabbage to be added on the side. My husband had the Mexican bowl and it was huge! It contained lots of carnitas, lettuce, beans, rice, and guacamole and sour cream. The food arrived in just about 5 minutes so very quick! After finishing our server provided our check promptly. Overall, very good and a fun place to be. They even had the guitarists play and sing for us.
we had a very good meal here and left very full! I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had chicken flautas both very good and with rice and beans. The chips and salsa were yummy and my Margarita hit the spot. It's a big place so don't get sacred away if you see a line it moves fast. They make the tortillas right there where you can watch them. I would eat there again !!
Excellent location, food was great! It was a cold evening but they had heaters at every table. There was a duo singing and they sang happy birthday to my son.
This is a very nice Mexican restaurant. The enchiladas combo was delicious and I loved the three enchiladas flavors. I took the server’s remand got the coconut margarita- wonderful.
Nestled in beautiful old Town San Diego Cafe Coyote did not disappoint. Sierra was a friendly and efficient hostess. The food was cooked to perfection. Chips and salsa served promptly. Ask for the hot ? the flavors are exquisite. I ordered 3 Street tacos shrimp chicken and pork. Certainly more food than one man can eat in one sitting. I saved room for the freshly made flawn. FANTASTIC! I finished by purchasing a couple of surfing ?♂️ Coyote shirts to remember my experience. Thanks to all staff for a wonderful lunch. I will be back for sure ?.
My wife says this is possibly the best margarita she’s ever had! I can tell you I had one of the best burritos I’ve ever had here too! Don’t be put off by the touristy look of the place, nor should you be put off by the long line of patrons waiting to get in… we joined the line on the street and were sat within 10mins! It looks touristy, but tastes authentic, and is priced somewhere in between. You can watch the tortillas being made while you wait, and you can buy them to take home too. Everything we had here was excellent!
