Excellent recommendation by the nice man running the restaurant and store. Love the home cooked food and warm atmosphere.
Waited over an hour and 15 minutes for food to arrive not only cold, but with portions so small it doesn't even come close to justifying $50+ on delivery. They seem to fill up the to-go containers with 5 lbs of room temp enjera and give you tiny portions of actual cooked entree. I'm never paying for this place again and I wouldn't recommend anyone waste their money here.
This friendly dine is Ethiopian restaurant has an authentic Injera offered with a variety of side dishes. The dish is vegan friendly and is highly colourful. Best enjoyed with friends and/or family since quantities can huge!
Soooo good. We ordered item 24 (in the pic). Very delicious
Awesome. No frills, literally hole in the wall at the end of the store. We got the meat and veggie sampler for 2 and were full at the end for sure. Comfy atmosphere and we can’t wait to come back!! Thank you so much!!
Food was very interesting, well spiced and plentiful. I enjoyed it and recommend it.Restaurant is in the rear of a run down Ethiopian deli/market on El Cajon Blvd. Don't let that stop you, try it, it is popular. Grab your drinks from deli and share the huge meal with your party (family style)
This place is the bomb! The owner/family who runs this place are the best part of the restaurant. The food is made with love and is freaking delicious and well worth a visit. My cousin and his girlfriend were visiting me in SD and I had an upset stomach after a recent trip to Mexico City. The owner made me a ginger tea from scratch to settle my stomach. I will definitely be back here.
Through the front door and walk to the back room where the restaurant is located. The employees were helpful in picking out the Meat and Vegetarian combos so we could sample all of the delicious offerings. Don't be shy and use your hands.
I sadly still can't taste much after covid so here's my husband and 2 year old's take. The meat and lentil sambusas seemed to have just been made and they were very good. My husband liked the spicy sauce that came with it and it resembled wasabi in that you feel it in your nose. My toddler ate a third of each and then asked for more of the meat one. For our entree, we shared a meat combo and a veggie combo which they served family style. Couldn't tell you what was what but everything was very tasty. My toddler had a bite of the injera bread (first time ever) and passed on it but liked a few of the side options on top so he was munching on that until he was full. Sounds like we'll be coming back whenever I can taste again! Though next time we'll tell them to take a few injera breads off the plate cz we left satisfied, with leftovers and with 3 rolls remaining!
I was inside, I'm sure this place is great, don't get me wrong. I'm just one person, I told them I wanted to try combo plate for my first time and 25 minutes later no one asked if I wanted a drink or food or anything, even when I walked out. Try serving new people drinks and acknowledge they matter to your business next time. I will try this again, maybe in a few mire months, other people say the good here is great. My first experience was horrible. I'll try other places first. I might not come back.
