So I went to this place to try it because a co worker said they were good.. BIGGEST MISTAKE I MADE!! I got thr lunch plate for $12 which was soooo not worth it, they barely gave you any chicken,, was full of bone but didn't have any meat, barley any rice and rice is cheap, the vegetables was nasty.. I didn't notice about the chicken until I got home and ended up not eating it, I would have tooken it back had I not had somewhere to be afterwards... I was mad ? I bought it.. ISLAND SPICE! where I have been going to for years which I should have stuck to. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE!! If you WANT GOOD JAMAICAN FOOD Awesome portion and get your money worth and some fo there..
Mmmm, wonderful Jamaican food. My husband and I decided to try Ackee Tree and I’m so glad we did.I had the Jerk Chicken Brown Stew my husband had the Ox Tails and both were awesome. We will definitely be regulars!
Not a big fan of the food. Despite the photo, the rice and cabbage were really bland. Prefer island spice over this place
The BEST I have eaten in San Diego to date! No disrespect to the other brothers and sisters Jamaican/Benjamite from the 12 Tribes restaurants! But I lived in Hollywood/Miami the hub of Caribbean Cuisine..Ackee Tree has the roots, spices, and herbs for the Healing of our Nation!
The food is good but I'm going to have give them a 1 star for their service. The young man who took my order seemed like he was annoyed with me. I understand people have bad days but if you're going to charge me $26 for an oxtail plate, I would expect I little better costumer service. I don't think I'll be coming back to this place.
The food is amazing! The customer service is outstanding and the place is very clean...fair prices too.

Mercy mercy MERCY!!!!!!! This ackee and salt fish was delectable. I got the breakfast plate with fried dumplings, it was amazing. Wait was a bit long for the food but it was so good.
I've tried all the Jamaican restaurants in San Diego and this is the best one by far. Their Brown stew chicken and jerk chicken are to die for and even the rice and peas have good flavor. Can't wait to return when I'm on that side of town
