If I could give zero stars......as a local I will never bother with this place again. Poor management, poor service, and mediocre food.
This is kind of hidden in the old city plaza, but worth going to. I have never had a bad meal there and I have always had leftovers to take home. Big portions. My current favorite is the three meat sizzling platter and house fried rice. Good value for your money. Our group has shared numerous items on the extensive menu and were never disappointed.
The 2 fried rice orders were fine but the orange chicken was horrible and barely edible. We generally like chinese so this was a disappointment.
Extremely poor quality food. Tried Mongolian beef, garlic shrimp, steamed dumpings, pork fried rice. All were barely edible. Good service though.

I have been going to Mandarin Garden for years with family and friends. I have never had a bad selection. I love the cilantro chicken and the beef broccoli. It's in a hidden location but it's worth it. I also get take out quite often.

This was our first time visit to this restaurant. They had extensive selection on menu. We ordered spicy fish with mushrooms and other vegetables. We also tried the 1/2 Peking duck. We were served by the Asian lady who owns the restaurant. She served the chopped up duck in rice like tortillas with onion, cabbage and sweet sauce. This is how it is served in Beijing. The meal was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. We would return again if we visit San Clemente again.
This is my Aunt's favorite place to eat for many years . We have eaten in and picked up food for her every time we go to CA. We were just there last week and visited there to pick up food. Much to our disappointment, it was nothing like the wonderful food that we have enjoyed for many years.
They are one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to. The Honey Walnut Shrimp is probably one their best items. Kung Pao Chicken is wonderful, Mushu Pork, and the nice thing is they are willing to add in items to the mix. For example if you want Kung Pao Chicken with snow peas, they will do it. Or if you want almonds instead of peanuts. Amazing People and service. Nice Old Town Boot Mugs. Very exciting tastes
