A few years ago, I searched the web for “best burgers in OC”…Mulligans was high on the list. I went, then my wife and I went, and since then I’ve brought friends from around the country….Because they are the best burgers around here. A real humble bar with nothing fancy except the food.
I ve been to Mulligans many times before, never have I encountered a bartender so willing to ignore me as tonight ...Chelsea...I ordered a beer told her I was hungry and she gave me 2 menu's...last I talked to her until I told her I wanted my bill...that was 25mins.I have never been so poorly treated...
Best burgers in town, maybe all of OC. Staff and patrons are friendly, many TVs for all manner of sports, and a surprisingly good art collection on the walls.

We’ve been here 7 years from Vegas and never went to Mulligans (no particular reason tho) and then someone posted in SC Life that Mulligans had the best burgers in town - so we each tried one. OMG - change that rating to the best burgers in the World, absolutely to die for, excellent quality of beef, huge, juice and numerous add-ons. They were so excellent - we went back 2 days later! Best gem for burgers and beer!
I've been going to this bar for 20+ years.. Same ol "dive bar" it's always been! But that's what I love about it.. No pressure.. no pretences.. just walk on in and grab a drink, maybe some munchies (mozzarella sticks are awesome!) and sit and chat or play a few games of pool. Pool tables are free btw.. Wide mix of patrons - most of them locals to San Clemente or the surrounding cities - and you can usually strike up a conversation with just about anyone there.. or join them in a game of pool or 2.
Best burgers anywhere. Barkeeps were great. Lots of pool tables and everyone was very nice. Great place to hang out with a couple friends

I've never ordered food here I didn't like. You can tell Mulligans takes pride in their kitchen - it sets them apart from other bars. I ordered the Shelley burger on my last visit, and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. The fries were seasoned, which was a delightful surprise. It was incredibly filling. I did not partake in pool, as I was there for the game, but there is free pool there everyday of the week. I believe they have 6 tables, so it is always accommodating. There's also a patio that allows you to enjoy a drink and a smoke simultaneously. I've been going there about 10 years, and I've never had a bad time.
Great local San Clemente spot. The staff is really friendly. The food is pub fare, but on another level, delicious and well presented. The burgers and wings are amazing. Lots of screens to watch sports and free pool tables. Definitely a place you need to check out.
