Ordering on-line was easy, the food (Salads: Siesta, Cobb & Baja Cobb, Sandwiches: Caprice & Pesto Chicken) was fresh, delicious & satisfying. All was exactly what we needed for a warm summer evening!
Today I ordered for the first time ever and was shocked to pay 20.23 for a coke and salad. In all honesty, I have had better salads and customer service from lower end restaurants and at a much more reasonable cost. I am giving 2 ? to the young lady that helped me by preparing my order because she was very nice unlike the owner of this establishment. The chicken was dry and scarce, (maybe that was a good thing). I was going to let that one slip until I had to call and ended up speaking with the owner. I've worked customer service a great majority of my life so that comes with knowing that if I have a loyalty program for my customers, I must " ask " them if they would like to sign up and not just "assume " they do because they trusted me with their phone number. I received a message telling me that I have been awarded my 1st point for joining the loyalty program to which I had no idea I signed up for. I gave my phone number because a lot of restaurants these days ask you for it to contact you in regards to your orders, wait times, etc. I had no idea that it was going to be used to sign me up for something I didn't okay. My mistake was not asking why she wanted it her mistake was not informing me what it was going to be used for. I figured it would be an easy fix and no, I was wrong. The link sent to me read that if I wanted to cancel my loyalty program, I would have to contact the toss in San Carlos and so that is what I did. I asked if they could please delete me from the loyalty program and that is when the lady said that she would "try" but couldn't assure me that she could. I then said, well, I never was offered to sign up for it or informed that this is why you wanted my phone number to which she replied, rudely, I'm the owner, I, you gave your phone number, 'I'll see what I can do. I then told her, if you were able to sign me up without my consent then you should be able to remove me with my consent. I informed her that she was being quite rude for being the owner to which she said, no, you're being rude and we don't need or want customers like you and hung up on me. WOW! Really? Since when is requesting someone to undo something they did without your acceptance being rude?Trust me, this was the 1st and last time I WILL ever go to the toss because evidently there is a huge lack of welcoming customer service from ownership! Keep treating your paying customers like this and soon you will be closing due to lack of business. It's a shame that the workers are more friendly and kind! You say you don't want me as a customer, well! I'll be darned! I don't want to support a failing excuse for a human being! I will spend my 20.23 at a better location with much better service! I might even go to glide and pay them for a hot meal because I know they Excell where you fail! Best of luck and please! Don't respond because nothing you can say would be of interest to me.
The Toss in San Carlos is my Absolute Favorite Restaurant for a delicious healthy lunch. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating.Their entire menu is delicious! I've had many of the Salads, Sandwiches, Bowls and Baked Goods and they are all FANTASTIC.I strongly recommend this restaurant!
This is #1 on our list for a quick lunch in San Carlos. Absolutely top quality ingredients, excellent combinations of flavors and textures, 100% customizable salads and sandwiches.I rotate between the tuna nicoise and the corfu with a hard egg or some shrimp, and my partner is a fan of the Mayan with shrimp. I haven't had anything less than an awesome meal from The Toss.
Great option, lots of options and great service. Appreciated the attention at check out, also the artisan house ciabatta bread is a highlight.
Got a caprese panini to go. The flavor is fantastic and I was even impressed with the side salad. Great dressing. All very fresh.
Lots of ingredients to choose from! Fresh and you put things together or order their dish creations.
Excellent food. Very delicious Panini. Will recommend 10/10.
Amazing staff and great, fresh food. Locally owned and highly recommend!
Pricey for what you get. $18 for salad and no drink with tip. Salad was decent but garbanzo beans were dry and chalky. Not worth it.
