I went there after reading quite a few reviews.May be you should have taste for this.I mostly had pizza in papa Johns , dominos , pizza huts etc.. The Pizza I ate here way off my expectation. As I South Indian it felt more like chapati. This was not for me for now.
Incredible Neapolitan style pie for not having a wood fired oven.Definitely try the summer squash white pizza.Delicious.
What an amazing local gem. My husband and I recently moved from NY and this restaurant reminded us of back home. Delicious, fresh food. We were so impressed by the chef running the entire operation. Will definitely be back!
My wife and I tried their pizza today! It's the best one we have ever had in the Bay Area. We order the classic margarita pizza, and we love it so much that we want to go again this week.If you want to have the best pizza, we highly recommend Number5Kitchen. It's amazing!Ps: buffalo wings and salad are good too! We love the wings
Incredible pizza! We had the mushroom pizza and the margarita pizza. Both were scrumptious. The calabrian chicken wings were a little pricey but really good as well. Highly recommended!
This cozy kitchen caught our eye walking down Laurel at lunch time and we decided to stop in. The owner, Henry, greeted us and took our order. We had the fall salad and the pizza margherita and were not disappointed! The pizza was by far the best we've had in San Carlos and we agreed throughout California. It's done Neapolitan-style with hunks of mozzarella, tangy tomato sauce, and charred basil on a doughy delicious crust. The portion was perfect for us to split, but we've already started planning our next visit. We left full, happy, and thrilled to have discovered a local gem that is family owned and operated.
Friendly owners and cozy spot. Dedicated to the flavors we enjoyed every bite. Crispy french fries are always a great side idea just because. Have their margherita pizza, fresh ingredients and tasty!
Melon and chicory salad as well as the strawberry salad are delicious! Locally owned, run by husband and wife, this side of Laurel St. has a gem. Menu change with the season to keep items fresh and offer new surprises. I am going back, a lot!
Amazing hidden gem in San Carlos! Food was great, and you can truly sense the farm-to-table freshness. We enjoyed our juicy steak au poivre and flavorful mushroom pasta. The basque cheesecake was a perfect finish for the night. Would definitely recommend!
Absolutely delicious. This restaurant is really "down-to-earth" or farm-to-table as you can get. It is a small joint where the chef prepares the dishes himself. It really feels like homestyle cooking more than a restaurant. The interior is simple, just like the dishes. Plenty of wood, clean lines, chairs. The plates and utensils complement this principle. Again very well balanced. The food is absolutely delicious with fresh ingredients. But perhaps too much so? It really didn't feel like we were eating at a high-end restaurant which the prices might suggest. The only reason for the 4-stars rather than 5 is due to the price and the value you get. The restaurant is priced as a high-end restaurant while foregoing the niceties of a ambience, the mood and the glamor associated. Perhaps different people value different things from the price you pay. But for me, a bit too steep for what you get.Out of everything we ate, the steak was the most disappointing (although yummy compared to other places). The middle wasn't too cooked at all, despite us asking for medium-well-done. Also the fries were soaked in the au jus with peppercorns sort of dancing around. The roasted chicken was to perfection. Tasteful without garnish. Pasta Bolognese was again homely. And the burrata was magnificent with well interpreted snow pea paste and imaginative strawberry preparations. Again, very well done.I respect the chef and what they are going for. And I really hope this place prospers. Thank you for the meal.
