Tasty Hunan restaurant. Chicken Wings with Explosive Chili Peppers is my favorite dish.
This place is such a sleeper.. besides well executed fiery hunan dishes featuring house made smoked pork, Joy of Hunan turns out fresh and renditions of classic american influenced dishes, like orange and Kung Pao chicken, or honey walnut prawns. Good Cali wine is also available, and the interior, though spare, is tastefully decorated and clean. Not your average chinese takeout place.
Nice restaurant to stop by near the airport and grab some Hunan Chinese food. Got the stir fried Chinese bacon, and braised pork belly and pickled vegetables and bun, rice cake with shredded pork and vegetables, stir fry water spinach with garlic, and sweet sour tofu with eggplant. The flavors were delicious. Service was good and fast.
Very slow service and very good dishes. Only two other customers. Took a while for menu, then water, teas finally came with dish. Orange fish very good. Menu may be too large. Layout of seating seems awkward. . Located in a shopping mall.
I rarely leave bad review however this one would be my first one. We walked out of the restaurant felt being ripped off. The dish is above average price but the quality of the food is so bad compare to the price. As someone from Hunan, the dishes I ordered is nothing like Hunan dish, maybe I was so unlucky ordered the wrong dishes. The decoration meant to be a fine dining restaurant however the service was ready bad, the lady was judging what we ordered and keep recommending us order more meat because the meat are more expensive dishes. She keeps pushing us to order while we still need more time to look at the menu and when we are taking the time to read she just walked away and we can even felt that she is upset lol We need to go found her to take our order… The guy was a better waiter though. The overall vibe seems so unwelcome. I would be ok if the price is resealable however it is unacceptable that they just charge the high price but serve us unauthentic low quality American Chinese food. Absolutely won’t return.
If I could give 0 stars I would. We came here with a party of 6. We waited over half an hour to order our food without any success in the end. We got prioritized over non-chinese caucasians who came in after us. Avoid this place at all cost if you don't look white.
Friendly, tasty Hunan restaurant. Good for a quick bite. I tried the fried squid, which was lightly spiced and had very good texture of the squid.I went with slow cooked pork in little buns for main. The pork melted in the mouth and was delicious. The combination with the buns ended up a bit dry. Next time I think I’ll try some of the other pork dishes. If you’re in the neighbourhood, a great place to stop for lunch or dinner. Seems to also do a good number of dishes for pick up.
Hands down the absolute most authentic tasting Hunan cuisine I've ever experienced in the US. This place even beats out a majority of high quality restaurants ive been to in China. 5 stars isn't enough to be honest, if you haven't tried this place out you are missing out.
Warm owner/hostess greeted us. Good quality Chinese food. We tried their lunch menu: Mongolian Beef and Orange chicken, each served with daily soup. Will visit again, if in the neighborhood.
We’ve been looking for an authentic Hunan restaurant and found this on google maps. We were very pleased with the quality and flavors of all our dishes. They offer your choice of spicy levels yet you still get the tingly sensation of the sichuan peppers. Comparable to Hunan impression with better value and shorter wait time. This will be our new go to restaurant next time we crave Hunan food.
