I found this place by accident but this place has surprisingly delicious food for the variety they offer!We were a party of 5 and each one of us ordered a different cuisine ( seafood, chicken, vegetarian, Mexican) and all of us loved our food!
The Village is my Dad's favorite local restaurant for breakfast! His favorite is the Rodeo...blueberry pancakes, two bacon, two eggs and fruit. Mine is their BLT with extra bacon! The atmosphere is very loving and Gabby and her husband Jose are so inviting. We have been eating there for over 20 years!This morning my Dad had his second favorite breakfast Biscuit and Gravy. They also have GREAT Margaritas and I LOVE their Shrimp Bruschettas!
Good selection American, Mexican, Seafood, and Italian dishes. Very flavorful, and quantity has never disappointed. If you want something spicier it not as such it whatever recipe change, just let them know when you order and the kitchen will gladly accommodate. Friendly staff and owners to boot!
I've been here twice and let me tell you that the chilaquiles verdes are BOOOOMMBBBB!!! Just the right amount of spicy with an egg and your choice of steak or chicken, simply my favorite! And the service is by far the single BEST service I've EVER had! The lady that works there is so sweet and kind, she is awesome! Its like getting a home cooked meal served by a sweet mom. I love it!
Probably the best breakfast I’ve had since coming to Monterey two years ago. Clean, well maintained restaurant with great service from Jose. I had the biscuits and gravy and it was scrumptious. Coffee was some of the best I’ve had at a diner. They offer cocktails too though I didn’t partake. I will be back for sure! What a find!
Delicious. I ordered the chilaquiles with green sauce and the sauce was so fresh - the owner told me they make it homemade from tomatillos and Serrano chiles. The best chilaquiles I’ve ever had. Excellent, friendly service and nice ambiance. Off the beaten path and well worth the detour off of 101.
I’ve never been disappointed with the food from The Village Restaurant. Everything I’ve ever ordered has been tasty and cooked to perfection.

A little gem of a restaurant! Surprised and Satisfied.... This little mom and pop Cafe, simply is - just that - mom and pop. It's like going to your grandmother's for lunch. The owners (wtfe & husband) greet you, seat you, serve you and even create craft Spirits for you! Definitely stop in and have lunch- it's well worth it.
