I was pleasantly surprised by this place because it is off Main St, but it should be on Main St, and it was delicious! The food looked really great, presentation was good and tasted even better! The service was good and the environment was chill. This place apparently had karaoke pre-covid, they should really bring it back on the weekends. I will definitely be back!
This is a great place to go out. I was seated quickly but the only downside was it was 20mins before a server noticed nobody began to provide us service. After that though, the service provided by our waitress was great. It seemed like everyone is provided great service and they will provide recommendations. I ordered the Chicken Terriyaki with tempura which which didnt take too long and the food was good. They have several flavors of Soju with the Green grape being the best flavor. For two people to order a full meal of food, things can out to $45. If we were not so hungry then it wouldve been only $35. Overall I would come back here again... especially if they add more Soju flavors
It has been a few years since I have been coming to Kokoro. Though today was by far the worst experience. We were immediately sat down, but there was zero acknowledgement for 25min. Finally someone came to take our order with a terrible attitude and after bringing our food never came to the table again. After we finished our meal, she took 20 more min to bring the check. We also noticed we were missing 2 items from our order though it was on our check. Yup not coming back, miss the old staff.
No other Sushi place has beatin this Great Secret Delicious Sushi Restaurant in Salinas in all places. BEST in variety and Freshness. My Favorite is the Raider w/ extra sauce and Macadamia nuts and Chad Roll. Soup and Salad is fresh.Highly Recommend this great spot for Sushi, forget Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur.. You want Sushi Kokorro in Salinas has it.
Good food. Excellent service. I got the lunch special bento box and the jalapeño bomb. The jalapeño bomb, while not very spicy made up for it in flavor. The bento was just the right amount of food. It came with soup, salad and 3 pieces of California roll. The sashimi was the best part.
We were recommended this place for their food and decor. We were too distracted to notice the decor when we went here.We had indoor dining dinner. The food was good but the price is high. We got Agedashi Tofu, Super California Roll, and Nigari sushi. I would skip the tofu. The nigari was really good with the fresh seafood. There was one fish that was really soft and sweet but we couldn't tell what fish it was...It was a good try and experience.
One of my favorite sushi places. Great rolls with great service. Their bento lunch box is quite the deal with a strong variety of food for a reasonable price. Potstickers were also delicious as has been pretty much everything I’ve tried. They can get busy at lunch time so plan ahead. This is a regular spot for me and will continue to be.
Wait time for food was a bit high but otherwise it was a good meal, I liked that the menu had pictures of all the rolls (not a given considering some other local places don't do that).
Tastes authentic Japanese cuisine, plus it’s in a bento box, makes it look more presentable. The staff are very attentive and helpful and courteous. I didn’t expect there is such a place in Salinas. It’s a great choice when it comes to Japanese food. Try it
