Wow, every dish we’ve ordered here is sooo tasty that we’ve been eating at this restaurant once a week. Dim sum: 5/5 Thai fried rice: 5/5 BBQ duck: 5/5 I’ve tried dim sum restaurants in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco and everywhere else. Dim sum ranks with the top notch restaurants. Their specialty dishes are even better than the most popular restaurants in those cities. So glad we found this place. I hope to try everything on the menu. Give dim sum inn a try, if you haven’t already. It’s the top 2, if not the best, most consistent, restaurant in the Salinas/Monterey area. And to top it off, their customer service is superb. We had a party of 10 for my grandfather's 79th birthday! All in all, the food was great and the service and amount of food was adequate. The prices were high, and they've been telling us for months now that they are updating their menu prices, but, to add 15% to all prices! Well when you have food for 10, it gets crazy, and I don't have a personal accountant that comes with me! They need to clean up that menu so that ordering doesn't take a calculus certification, that you add 15% to! Otherwise we enjoyed our dinner there!
I love this restaurant, it is a unique treasure and something to enjoy. I come here every couple months with my mum and aunt and I am never disappointed. The food is just spectacular and delicious, we are always trying something new and utterly excited by the flavors. My favorites are the Walnut Shrimp, Pork Buns and Sesame Balls. The people who work here are always friendly, sweet and really make you feel like family. I would 100% recommend and cannot wait to eat here again!!!
I would recommend the eggpaste mochi and the sticky rice in lotus leaf with chicken. The tea is also really nice. The portions are generous for a dim sum place.
This is the second time we have come to enjoy their Dim Sum and we were not disappointed at all. We had 4 in our party and everyone ordered something different. The portions were Large and filling. My wife brought home an order of lamb curry and I couldn't help given it a try and I will be ordering it next time we go again. We have been going to a place in Fresno and it just doesn't compare to the Dim Sum Inn. Price, portions and survice.
Just discovered this place after visiting our son in East Garrison. From Palo Alto and have had really good dim sum in S.F. and down the peninsula for years. This place compares to some of the better places we've been to. Everything was freshly made, very tasty and the portions were larger than typical. As an example, each Su Mai was nearly a third as large as normal and this was true of most everything we ordered. The sticky rice was the size of a well stuffed small burrito. Chicken feet and tripe were delicious and the fried taro root was perfectly prepared and not oily at all. And ... it wasn't really expensive on top of it. Given that there isn't another place like it around, this will be our go to spot for dim sum. Can't wait to try the non dim sum menu. The photo of the ox tail made my mouth water. Will be back here soon.
