I had the most delightful dinner with friends whom I was visiting in Carmel. Jeff is an experienced wine buyer and great Somm and his chef wife Crystal and staff presented us with delicious food which were paired with his selection of amazingly diverse and affordable wines. What a selection! I even signed up for his Wine Club on the spot!
So fun to see new restaurants in Salinas. This restaurant was amazing. Great food, service and cozy atmosphere! Staff and chef so welcoming and you can tell that they care about your experience!Congratulations to a wonderful new establishment! ?We will return soon!
Our first visit. Reservations are recommended as there is limited seating. Also limited menu but excellent choices with salmon, cannaloni, lasagne, short ribs for entrees. However, we were told the menu varies. Husband & wife team. She is the chef & he is the sommelier.We had the lasagna & cannaloni & both were very good. Service was excellent. I wouldn't order the house salad again. It was a very nice presentation but the dressing had no flavor. I favor a spicier dressing or one that is more vinegar than oil. And it was very small. We were told they recently opened for lunch. It is more of a grab & go of pre-made items.
Take the time to make reservations and dine here! It's so nice to eat out when you know the Chef loves what she does and the Sommelier is happy to tell you about his wine experiences. Cheers, Crystal and Jeffrey, to much success!
Best food in Salinas by far! The whole experience was so pleasant. Wine prices by the bottle are the best anywhere, and service was exemplary. My new favorite on the whole peninsula!
If you have not tried Amapola's yet, you should really do yourself a favor and go... make reservations if possible it's worth it. The food, wines, service, ambience.... all on point! Kudos to the owners... #nailedit..I would have had pictures but were to in the moment
Great Place to Dine, amazing food and large wine selection. The portions are perfect. I can always count on Jeff and his sommelier expertise to pair an amazing glass of wine with my dinner selection. Chef Crystals food is amazing and I highly recommend not to skip on dessert! Amapola has become my go to for a nice date night or nice dinner with friends.
Cozy new restaurant open only for dinner at the present time. To start I has an appetizer of fresh, hot bread and butter that was very good. That was followed by lasagna which I could taste all the layers - pasta, noodles, and cheese without the sauce overpowering it. Wonderful. For dessert I had a custard based creme Brule that was very good. Price range for dinner entrees was in the 17 to 23 dollar range. The owners are a husband and wife team. I definitely will be back to enjoy other items on the menu. Great place for an upscale dinner.

Excellent dining experience! Every bite was delicious. Felt like dining in Europe without the crowds.We will be back with friends.
