Jermaine found the perfect wine for us -- Lucky Rock Pinot Noir. Excellent wine. Exceptional service. Highly recommend for a pre-flight stop.
Recently I ate a grilled smoked ham and Gruyère cheese sandwich at Vino Volo. It was a perfect comfort food choice, grilled sourdough with yummy gooey warm cheese, it made my airport wait more enjoyable.
It was the only place we could get something to eat before our flight. Paid $25 for a handful of lettuce and some slivers of chicken, egg and avocado. (The dressing was tasty!) Drank tap water with no ice because they don’t have any ice. I thought they were joking!! They do have a large selection of wines to choose from.
Tried to sit down at the bar between the server well. Instead of someone speaking to me. They point at a sign and carry on. It said to keep the server well clear. We were clear of this well. This was very rude and unprofessional. Pathetic
Not sure what we did to receive such snooty service, but oh well. I'll never come back... ever!
I meant to take a picture of the brie appetizer but I inhaled it. It was small, but because my husband doesn't like brie, I had the plate to myself. For one person, it's ample size.
Our first flight in more than two years. SMF was quiet as we entered Terminal A around 5:30pm in advance of our 7:30pm flight. To our surprise, all the bars and restaurants were closed - we thought we'd grab a bite and drinks while waiting. The only opening was at Vino Volo. Lucky for us, things were quiet there as well and we quickly grabbed a table and order small bites and beverages - beer and wine. Our server, Danielle, was the lone server at the bar and dining area. In short order, there was a line out the door and all the tables and bar were full. She never missed a beat taking orders and busing tables. Another staff person was in the kitchen brining out food and I'm sorry we didn't get his name. BUT Danielle was the star of the hour. Organized. Friendly. So impressed that we called and told the manager she deserves kudos for job well done. I wrote a story about Vino Volo when it first opened at SMF in 2007. I'm glad to see they've survived and are thriving. Hope all the other staff and locations are equally welcoming. Wine and beer and other non-alcoholic drinks available.
The food is surprisingly good, solid wine selection (for an airport), and the pours are HEAVY lol
Only 1/2 glass of wine for $12 to $19!! That's a lot of money for a half glass. When I asked the server he said he's only allowed to pour to the top of the emblem etched in the glass - which 1/2 glass. He said its 6 oz but its really only 4 oz. What a rip off!!
What can I say but it's been many years since I ate in an airport and felt like a number but today I was a customer and staff were friendly , attentive and smiling Myself & partner had the Charcuterie Plate , Cheese Board and Tuscan Chicken Sandwich it may sound alot but these are small plates & sandwiches to share and boy was the quality and presentation of a high standard Drinks on offer were Speciality Wines and Bubbles being Champagane & Prosecco We took 2 flights of wines at $15 a go and were not dissapointed the menu card also offered glasses of wines and the quality was spot on with choice This venue felt relaxed , WIFI was good and ambience along with staff was good Definitely if passing thru Sacramento airport it's worth a visit
