Went here one evening because my wife thought it looked worth trying. It must be a neighborhood support thing, because while I was there I saw several people showing up and I'm sure it stays busy. As we were deciding what to order, an older lady came for a pick up order and the workers spoke to her in a very familiar manner, so I'm guessing she's a regular. I'm glad they have regulars because I would never go back. Maybe I'm just cheap, but with no indoor dining, nothing fancy about the place, old technology, their overhead can't be that high. Therefore they shouldn't be charging that much for a simple burger, fresh or not, and after I pay that much they shouldn't be charging my girls for ranch cups. I'm not saying don't eat here, but if you like simple food and don't care how much it costs go here.
I had the grilled cheese with bacon which was good and the French fries where thick and delicious. Last stop to eat and enjoy a break on our big bike ride from Southside Park on 6th street. Going back again, good customer service, no long waiting and they stayed open a few minutes or so later than 9pm.so we all could eat. Also im aure they appreciated the big group of customers.
I agree, a little pricey. But it is a good burger shop. Has all the classics. Fresh ingedients, and I recommend the Bacon Cheese Burger and fries. The Chili Dog is pretty good too. My family loves the shakes. Neighborhood family owned business, good people.
The food and shakes are delicious and well cook. The location is in nice quiet area on 14th Ave, located pass Tahoe Park.
I thought the pastrami sandwich was pretty good and the steak fries are great as well. I like how everything is freshly made so it can take a while but it’s worth the wait. There is a drive thru which is convenient and I haven’t had any problems my last few visits.
Great little hamburger jointLittle pricey BUT substantial sized burgers so it's worth it! And yes, definitely better then any fast food places! This was drive thru order or order in front /outside eating. The 2 Double cheeseburgers and 3 kids cheeseburgers were awesome and very tasty. Yummy regular and curly fries. Very yummy vanilla malt shakes. I gave it 3 stars because the ranch dressing was very off and tasted more like mayo and tartar sauce. We went around 4pm and they were out of fried zucchini. But all around very pleased to have found this old school burger joint!
Been eating here for years since I lived in Tahoe Park and still go back frequently. The giant burger at $7.99 is substantial and one of the best fast food burgers I've had. The fries are perfectly cooked and plentiful. If you want proof, look at the fast-moving drive- through line any Friday night!
Best grill eats in Tahoe or Colonial area. Local tip: don't call in ur order during busy times. Drive thru or walk up (my fave) is usually quicker. Call ahead off peak.
Great local place to get a corn dog and a soft serve after the bar! Kinda something you dream of stumbling upon while reminiscing about the '50s.
Come here if you want a semi-thick rich beef flavored burger. I'm sure it a hit or miss for some, but in my personal opinion and experience I have nothing bad to say. Thick juicy flavourful burgers with a side of chili cheese fries. It makes a great 'cheat day' spot for those who enjoy a delicious burger.
