Very tasty smokey flavours. Ordered platter with loin ribs and chicken leg and thigh and a tri tip burrito. Note all online prices are incorrect, mentioned that to staff to have it corrected, plan on adding $5 to anything you see online. Wonderful flavours but the chicken was OLD and leathery and very dark bruised meat, ribs were good and fresh. The tritip burrito was good but almost broke a tooth with a piece of bone in it. Also note they charge extra if you pay by card
It's sad there's no good BBQ place in sac. This place was bad. I never tried it so I figured why not. I walked in. And the interior was dirty and old.I order like a meat combo.I took a while to get my food. I thought. I'd try something in my car. Terrible. EVERYTHING was dry and boring. The chicken dry Ribs blah . Tri tip overcooked. Nothing trimmed .I returned back inside and showed the lady owner. She looked annoyed but gave me my money back. 45$ that's a lot of money to spend on garbage
It had been a few years so when our friends suggested it we were game. Well, the coleslaw was ok, not too sweet but that is about as good as it gets. Overgarliced fries with lots of little burnt crispies. Chicken salad with the super watery iceberg bagged salad and barely cooked chicken. Brisket wrap was ok, not great and no visible cheese. Ribs were ok, not grisly, pulled pork sandwich was a bit fatty. Texas toast? More like Texas thin burned sandwich bread. Odds are safe to say that we won’t go back for a few years at least, and only if it is the choice of the group.
This is my first time visiting Texas West BBQ. I ordered takeout. The staff was very polite and prompt. I visited during a quiet time in the afternoon so I was immediately served and they turned my order around in just a few minutes. I was very happy with the quality of my meal. I ordered one of their plates with baby back ribs, tri-tip, mac and cheese oh, and potato salad. All in all I was very happy with the flavor of every item. The meat was clearly higher-quality. The ribs had a substantial amount of meat on them. I have to admit that the portion of meat was a little smaller than I would have liked; however, for the price I really can't complain. They gave me a sample of both the regular sauce and their spicy version. Both were quite good; however, I would have preferred a slightly thicker sauce. The potato salad consisted of red potatoes and appeared to be homemade and was quite good. I believe the macaroni and cheese with Stouffer's. I don't say that to be mean or to disparage the business but that particular mac and cheese has a very specific flavor and texture and this was a dead on match. I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning. I failed to take a picture of my meal otherwise I would have shared it.
Pickup a slab of ribs for our dinner. Good sauce big tasty ribs.Even if the health department gives a pass in February, you still need to clean the vents and things . Good food though
I almost always get the tri-tip. It's excellent. Sides are great, too. Wonderful fries and possibly the best mac&cheese in town.
Brisket was good for California! It was no where near as bad as Armadillo Willys roast beef that they call brisket. Good sides.
Inconsistent hours. You never know when this place is going to be open. Website says one thing, google says another, and then the actual open/close times don't match anything. BBQ is average, but meat portions are decent. Side dish portions are ridiculously small. I'd give it 3 stars for the food. However, given the inconsistent hours, it gets a 2.
I honestly haven't dined there in years, please be respectful of Danielle's memorial. One Love.
The food is excellent but a little pricey for fast food. 2 sandwiches 2 fries $30.
