Great snack bar terrific hot dogs and ice cream a must stop place whenever am in Old Sacramento. The staff always friendly and attentive including the owner who’s always willing to greet his customers with a smile.

We stopped in for an ice cream while seeing the Old Sacramento area and it was delish! Highly recommend butter pecan BTW. The young man who waited on us (didn't get his name) was very friendly.
service is always awesome even when they have a full house. certainly worth a return visit. feels like a cafe in phoenix that i enjoyed visiting.
Everyone at our table was glad to be there. I had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. Mood here reminds me of Colorado Springs area.
Do not leave if it's busy, it is worth it. Atmosphere is similar to a cafe in San Jose I loved.

If you find yourself in Old Sac during the summer or even anytime tbh, do yourself a favor and head on down to Sam's Cafe. You cannot beat their price on ice cream, fresh hot dogs and cool refreshing fountain drinks. My family always stops by, including today. I highly recommend the butter pecan or the strawberry cheesecake ice cream.
