I hate to write this review because I actually like their food and we need a vegan restaurant in this area. But I’ve now had three negative encounters with their staff, two accounts with a woman who claims to be their manager (I sure hope she is not!). A couple of weeks ago I arrived 11:00 because their website says they open at 11:00 and there was no sign indicating otherwise. The ‘manager’ rudely told me they don’t open until 11:30 but offered for me to order online and I could pick it up at 12:15. 45 minutes for an online order? Today I arrived at 11:50 but they had a sign that says they open at noon (why do they keep changing the time?). I didn’t mind waiting because I like their food. The people before me knocked on the door and the ‘manager’ came out and snapped at them because it was before noon (7 minutes to be exact). Then another guy came to pick up a to go order and his mom parked in front waiting for him. The ‘manager’ opened the door to tell him they couldn't park there and then slammed the door on his face. Seriously? He was just picking up an order??? He knocked and knocked and she ignored him. She finally brought out his food when they moved the car, as if he only deserved the food because they obeyed her. They proceeded get into a huge argument with lots of yelling. I just left. I'm so sad bc their food is good. It’s just very disappointing. I don't think I'll go back. ?
Happy that there is a vegan restaurant like this in the area. Love the names of the menu items as it is pure nostalgia. I ordered the Some like it Hottie chick'n sandwich which my only complaint was where was the spice? Ordered I side of fries. Only place to sit and eat is outside in the heat. Food was good. Would come back to try other items.
Yes please. Vegan with pure soul. This reminded me a bit of Dharma’s Kitchen in Florida. No dine in but there is outdoor seating or take out. You knock at the window when you’re ready to order and one comes out. We ordered the Auntie Soul Plate (1 protein, 2 sides, drink) with the Nashville Hottie, Mac and cheese, potato salad, fresh squeezed lemonade.I ordered the gluten free bird and a side of candies yams.Tenea was the first impression and last, a notable, lasting presentation of the company.Food, marvelous! Parking lot, cashless payment accepted. Downside is for the cost of the platter and what I ordered that’s $50 for an ok portion size.
Attentive and kind staff, excellent twists and tangy, fun food. Order of buffalo chikn, tots and crunch wrap were delicious, and portion quantity very reasonable!Plus: I appreciate you are receptive to customers like me wanting to avoid/minimize packaging waste, bags, utensils etc as I’m sure you’d like to as well. Thanks again!
Everything was so delicious! My sister is a vegetarian and she got the barbacoa burrito and was in heaven. I tried it and the texture was great, the seasoning was just right, and the whole combination was perfect. Tater tots were crispy! My brother who is lactose intolerant was finally able to have some delicious mac and cheese. I reccomend everything from burritos, sandwhiches to drinks.
I tried the crunchwrap, burrito, mac and cheese, and Chai. I was very impressed with the flavors and can't wait to come back and try more. The menu here is incredible you can't go wrong with anything. They were very fast about my order even with a dinner rush coming in. Best vegan spot in town yet!
The food was so fire .!! I had the nachos with a side of lemonade and my friend who’s never had vegan food had the hottie sandwich with lemonade. Would definitely recommend. Only thing I would change is the seating option which is outside and on a hot Sacramento day the last place you want to be is in the heat waiting to eat
the food is amazing. best food in sacramento, absolutely no doubt about it. also, so many soy free options it makes my soy intolerant heart swell up with joy. i love how the food isnt just microwaved vegan nuggets thrown on a bun, they put love into their food!! come here!! (only downside is that no other vegan food will come close to what you have here)
Food is great and I love the names, they're so fun! Staff is always friendly and checks in on us when we eat outside. Saw some complaints about not having indoor seating, boo hoo. So what they don't have indoor dining, I'll sit in my car and pig out if I have to
Oh. My. Gosh! This was the best soul food I've had since moving to Sacramento from NC. The collard greens are out of this world! I'm pretty sure Auntie uses some kind of magic when she makes them! The Buffalo chickn sandwich was so good! Great texture, perfect flavor, and just the right amount of spice! You definitely don't have to be vegan to enjoy this restaurant, but you can rest easy if you are! They don't allow any animal products in the building! I will be back again and again!!
