What a great stop to get a sandwich on my way out of town!
I drove by Pennisi's the other day and remembered I used to get a 3 pasta salad sampler plate from this place like almost 10+ years ago. I thought I'd come in and check to see if they still had something similar to that. Surprisingly, everything still looked the same and they still have the 3 pasta salads I chose long ago. I'm happy I don't live in the area because my carb intake would most likely increase 1000% because it's that good.
Nice deli across from the hotel I was staying at. Good value for a tasty breakfast and lunch. Food was very good. Wait is a bit long but that’s to be expected these days I guess.
What do I love at Pennisi's Deli??? The lasagna, the meatballs, chilli, fruit bowl, I love it all. So delicious.
Excellent turkey avocado sandwich! The bread roll was surprisingly really good? The rest of it was good too but the bread was surprisingly great! Sometimes sandwich roll bread is a cardboard flavored afterthought....
The wife and I stop here for lunch which was across the street from our hotel when we arrived in Sacramento. Great Subs, at a reasonable price. Wine and beer is also sold here for your meal, or to take out. Everything on the menu was good to purchase, but I went with the turkey and provolone and all the fixings that went with it. You had 2 choices of bread, wheat or French. I went with the French, the wife went with the wheat, with roast beef and swiss, with all the fixings. If I am in this area again, I will make a stop for one of their subs.

A bit pricey and they get attitude over the phone if you try to order ahead, but the food tastes good
The only place in Sac that makes a close to genuine New Orleans Muffuletta. It’s packed with meat, it’s a great deal, and can be shared between two people.
