Loved this place. Wish the clowns weren't so angry or sad looking.The bathroom was beat up. Everything was broke and dirty. Mirror was scratched to hell. I see yard sales and many places they could have gotten cheap bathroom decor. Upgrade the bathroom!

I liked the focus on lottery. They once sold a jackpot worth ten thousand. They have a tv showing the Hot Spot numbers so you can buy a ticket any time during your visit and four minutes later be checking your numbers while you’re eating your food. I got the Circus Special with coffee and a sundae. Will be back to try the burgers and buy more tickets.
First cup of coffee there was over 42 years ago. Pleased to see not much has changed, except for prices! Quality, service and food was all above avg.
My late father used to take us to Pancake Circus when we'd visit Sacramento and it was a special place for our family.I became a resident about 20 years ago and I brought my kids here as they grew up and the Circus had remained a family favorite.In the 2000`s something changed and Pancake Circus became...awful.But I went in at the very beginning of 2022 and had a GREAT MEAL!!I mentioned to the Manager that my experience was so much better than the last several visits and he told me that it was recently under new management and ownership and they were working hard to make things better.I said the positive change was VERY EVIDENT with the quality of the food and vibe and that I'd definitely be back again soon!Pancake Circus is back, babaaaaayyyy!!??❤️????❤️??
This was the first time going here. I was pleasantly surprised at how much better it was than expected. The wait staff was nice, but unfortunately, they are very slow. My food was good, but some of it was a little cold. It was like the cooks got the timing wrong. My BFs's food was worse than mine. He said the taste was OK, but having parts cold was unacceptable. You can tell there are many regulars here. The servers are very friendly and will chit chat with them. This could be a reason why service is slow, and would be understandable and even appreciated if the food was better. I would recommend the hash browns over the country potatoes. The pancakes were super fluffy and big. I would be cautiously optimistic to recommend this place, and it would be good to go at least once to this iconic Sacramento establishment.
I used to come here all the time but this last visit put a halt on that. My omelet had raw unmelted cheese and I brought it up to the server, she proceeded to grab the plate and supposedly redo it or something. Well I kept my eye on the plate which ended in the microwave for 30 sec the returned to me.
The pancakes were great. The rest was pretty standard quality for a cheaper breakfast restaurant. The building its self needs a remodle bad however. It seems pretty run down inside.

I have driven past this place my whole life and never went, now that I finally went, it's amazing. Huge portions, 3 stack of pancakes with every order, priced low, and my kids loved the gumball machine up front
