Food excellent. Atmosphere poor. Windows filthy. No complaints about the food. Everything we’ve tried so far is fantastic. The restaurant is a huge banquet room so intimacy for two people dining is nonexistent. Also, wall of windows on west side of this establishment needs washing on a regular basis. They are dusty with lots of graffiti and fingerprints. Dirtiness best seen in the late afternoon when the sun is shining into the restaurant.
This is a place I haven't been to in over a year, family and friends went here often especially after church. The atmosphere was the same, quite (even with children), lots of tables, because our party was so many, even the larges table would not accommodate us, and we didn't want to be squeezed in, so they were just so very, very nice to give us the other large table so we sat next to one another.
Nice restaurant, food came fast, hot, and delicious. Friendly people.Cons: they don't really have a server for your needs besides giving you food. You have to go to the cashier wait in line and pay yourself. The outside parking lot has been on renovation for months now. Very annoying as different paths are blocked.
My family and I were extremely disappointed in the customer service. We came at open, knowing that we had a big group of 18. When we told the waitress the size of our party, she was annoyed with us. She had us move four tables together and continued to complain about how big our party was.We did not get the “dim sum” experience like the smaller tables around us. They made us order all our food at once and was inconsistent about when they brought it out, most of our order came at the very end.The food was also inconsistent in temperature. The bill came out to be about $600. The food was less than mediocre and the customer service terrible. In the back, next to the bathrooms, was this big jug of what looked like the chilly oil that they serve, covered with a plastic bag. This is extremely questionable and unsanitary. The was no excuses for the lack cleanliness of the place, especially during these times of covid.
Happy garden is our favorite dim sum spot on a Sunday morning. The har gow/Shu Mai/lol Mai gai are super delicious. The parking lot is under construction so it it limited parking
Love the food. The chicken feet is absolutely delicious. Come with a large group for a better experience. My only complaint would be the walnut shrimp. I am very disappointed. I think they changed the recipe.
Well deserved 5 stars food is great and service is great. Hong is my girl she’s awesome. between her, the great customer service, and the food it’s hard Not to come back when passing by you gotta stop in.Shrimp dumplings and shrimp ball for the winAnd don’t forget to sayHello to Hong
If you enjoy a hot bowl of Wor Won Ton soup, this is the place. I tried other dishes and they were all seasoned perfectly. You will not be disappointed.
Best seafood restaurant to eat at
First class restaurant!New Happy Garden not only has an amazing menu, it's extremely spacious inside. The atmosphere is comforting and with seating that accommodates single eaters up to tables for 8, it's a great place to bring your friends or to come to enjoy a family dinner. The food tastes even better than it looks. The flavors are savory and float on your palette from subtle to complex. I enjoyed one of their dinner plates with three picks and which comes with soup and an egg roll. Even their house tea is perfectly blended with a rosy color and served at peak temperature. By far the best Chinese food in Sacramento. The pricing is also friendly and will average about $15 a plate.
