I can't be completely fair on my rating since I was not able to try their food. However, we waited about 20 minutes to be sat. The wait was not from lack of tables available but from lack of clean tables. There were 2 servers and about 9 tables inside (only 2 were occupied) not including the bar. After being sat it was about 15 minutes to get our order taken. We ordered a California roll and a Sunrise roll. It was about 45minutes to an hour when we decided to make conversation with the table next to us and discovered that they were waiting on a replacement sushi roll since they thought their appetizer was hard and fishy. As we continued to sit there and wait we observed one of the sushi chefs close down her station and out of hunger we decided to just leave. I wish we would have had the opportunity to at least taste their food. Maybe I'll try one more time and take it to go. I really hope they figure it out and fix it.
Decided to try this place again after an 8 month hiatus. When last we came we found metal wiring in our sushi, somehow!!!?? Never made it in the front door. They don't accept reservations, even though their phone and website says they do, and we just didn't want to be the 7th party on the wait-list, which she said would be anywhere from 30-60+ minutes. Sushi is really good but the service and wait isn't worth it at all. Side note: we still had to pay for the food last time that had metal wiring in it, even though we showed staff the wiring.
Excellent sushi. Loved the salmon appetizer plate and sauce. Place is small and gets really busy so expect a little waiting. Staff is super friendly and service is great.
The place is small so expect a little bit of a wait sometimes, but I love it here. I’m vegan and by far they have some fun tasty vegan rolls that are much fancier than the typical carrot, cucumber and avocado. They are creative and super delicious. Highly recommend to any vegetarian or vegan or even people who eat fish, I hear their fish taste pretty fresh. The staff also was really friendly
We drove so far to try this place. We were ecstatic to try it. We arrived right at opening so nobody had used our table before us, however, our table was very dirty and sticky. The entire place was run-down and dirty. There was one waitress (manager) for entire place. I hate when waiters don't write down my order because they are trying to impress me. I knew they'd mess up my order. We didn't get two of our rolls and the ones we got were nothing like we ordered. The rolls were so gross we only ate 25% of them then boxed the rest to be polite then threw away in the garbage at the park across the street. We had to flag down the waitress for everything. Not once did she come to us on her own. She walked past us 100s of times and never made eye contact with us so we could get napkins, refill water, order the rolls we never got, get side sauces, etc. It was a horrible experience. We were actually depressed when we left lol. It was a huge disappointment.
First time tying this place and was very disappointed. The worst sushi/food I have had. Ordered 2 Dine Downtown specials. I got the vegan Irishman roll and my friend got the regular Irishman. The brussel sprouts on top were beyond burnt so the entire rolls just tasted burnt. The yam in the rolls were not cooked all the way and had an unpleasant crunch to them because of it. I emailed feedback over a week a go to the restaurant but didn't hear back. Spent $60 on food that was not edible.
Just to start off the conversation I wanted to share with my viewers that I had a wonderful time with my daughter, that I hardly see. Ok, back to the review lol. I ordered the crabby sushi roll and it was delicious! Try it with the vegan mayo spicy sauce if you like spiciness in your life ?. And my daughter LOVES the "IrishMan Roll". Please come on in and enjoy a wonderful day or night with a family member or even for a romantic date with your love one. O and by the way AWESOME customer service!!.
I've been eating here for years. Since back when it was Lou's Sushi. I have slowly over the past 2.5 years watched this place erode its quality, standards, and customer service.I have supported this business through the pandemic despite random 'online only' order days (with no warnings), supply chain issues, a clearly disgruntled staff, random closures, substitutions without informing me etc - there was a period for example they randomly swapped out their real crab mix for imitation, didn't inform me and charged the same price.I ordered take out online tonight (I live within a couple blocks of this place) at 5:45 and it said online it would not be ready until 6:45. I guessed they must be particularly busy, so I arrived at 6:45 on the dot, got my food and walked the short distance home (the restaurant had maybe 4 people seated). Upon arrival home I discovered that the fried brussels sprouts I had ordered were not even luke-wam, and the nigiri was warm to the touch and had started to smell. I attempted to call the restaurant and got no answer. I walked the 2 mins back and let the person who gave me my order know I'd like a refund and was told that 'she couldn't' and that 'the manager would be in tomorrow'. She clearly didn't care at all. I tried to explain that the food had clearly been sitting out for an unhealthy amount of time and all I got was a blank stare. I told her I wasn't eating it, and handed the food back and called and disputed the charge on my debit card.Unbelievable that you could so grossly mistreat a customer who easily eats there several times a month, no wonder this place always has staffing issues.
I agree with previous reviews that this place has changed for the worse. I used to think it was high quality, and now I think the opposite. I recently got 2 rolls and 1 oyster appetizer and ended up spending $50 bucks and did not even that full. My two rolls lacked in flavor even though they were specialty rolls with 2 different fishes and shrimp, and I paid roughly $17 per roll. There was little amounts of spicy tuna and the fish was minimal on the top. I think this place is overpriced and honestly not that good, so I would no longer recommend it to anyone. It's sad because I live very close by, but I don't want to waste my money anymore. The staff is pretty nice though, but slow.
Unrecognizable and very disappointing sushi compared to six months ago. Too much rice with the wrong consistency and taste, too much avocado, not enough fish and seafood, poor presentation, bland flavors. What was the best sushi place in town is a crushing disappointment. Plus prices have jumped and both toilets were malfunctioning. Staff still efficient and friendly, hence the two stars.
