Absolutely wonderful, from atmosphere to food and drink! I have been vegetarian for 30+ years. In that time, I can think of only a handful of restaurants where as much (or possibly more, in this case) attention was given to the conception and execution of meatless dishes as is generally reserved for those with meat. Typically, the meatless portion of the menu is uninspired and uninspiring. Not at Mayahuel! The only complaint I could possibly muster is that Mayahuel is in Sacramento while I live in Southern Oregon. One way or the other, this needs to be addressed. ?
I stayed at the Hyatt and its just around the corner on the same block as the hotel. It's great and one of the best moles I've ever had. Pricing is also fair.
This was a great restaurant with unique choices and delicious drinks. Close to the capitol so a great find for a tourists. Will eat here next time in Sacramento
This is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in Sacramento for several reasons. They have an extensive vegan menu. The chips and salsa are the best. The chips are thick and crunchy and the salsa has a rich smokey flavor. Their fish tacos are so good with a mixture of tilapia and grilled veggies. I like their outside seating when weather permits. There service is very good. Our server as prompt and kept our glasses and chips and salsa filled.
Very authentic, I don't want to disrespect identifying them as Mesoamerican. They describe their flavors and style as the authentic taste of Mexican infusing Mayan traditions & flavors. I love this place and nothing on the menu has ever let me down. A for sure try here is their signature dish and Michelin plated: Poblano Soup. I'd recommend this place to anyone. With in-house made tequila & Mezcal.
Efficient, friendly, and professional staff. Food was inspired from Mexico, but truly next level in terms of presentation, quality, and flavor.
Last minute find for dinner on NYE and food and cocktails were amazing! Will definitely revisit next time I'm in town.
Mayahuel has to be one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while. Their dedication to traditional recipes and quality is exceptional. They also have a set vegan menu which features some of the best vegan food I've ever had.
