No acknowledgement upon arrival. Understaffed and very slow wait times. Food was very flavorful, but was unfortunately lukewarm when it arrived to our table. Drinks were never refilled and had to wait forever to get our check. I have no plans of returning, but as of now I'm not writing it off completely.
Had not been to Mayas since August 2020 so we thought we'd go for Sunday breakfast (7/10/22).Here's my review, although it's a nicely decorated restaurant, my husband and I left unsatisfied. We ordered menudo and it literally tasted as if the entire container of salt was added to the menudo (beyond salty).The restaurant only had five tables with guest but it took a long time to get our menudo. How long can it possibly take to ladle menudo in a bowl which by the way was big enough for a child.The only positive thing I have to say is that our server was very nice. Unfortunately I didn't get her name.For menudo, I definitely recommend going to Mayas on Broadway.Maybe we'll be back for the cocktails since they do look interesting on IG when made by the owner (Danny).
The service was not great and it was the manager who was serving. Two people dining together was given a small condiment cup of salsa to share with chips. When asked for another cup of salsa the manager said " I'm going to have to charge you a $1 for it".. chips and salsa are complimentary when you eat in a Mexican restaurant. Now moving forward I love rice and beans.. The beans come out cold. The food over all was just ok, the service was disgusting and I will never go back
It was a good experience. Very flavourful and fresh food. We ordered a skirt steak and quesabirria tacos. Marinated steak was very tasty and tender, quesabirria tacos were amazing and cocktails were delicious. Good service, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
I let this place do this to me three times before I left a review Every time i pick a door dash up. There isn’t many times because I always decline this restaurant cause they’re liars . This is what they do when they get a DoorDash they don’t do the order until you arrive and then when you arrive they say five minutes and it takes 20 to 25 minutes and they Ignore you the whole time after they tell you five minutes. This place is very inconsiderate I wonder if they know that we get paid zero money to sit there and wait and they make everyone wait they don’t do the order right when it comes in I drove 15 minutes to get here and I had to wait 25 minutes for the order . So if your food service delivery guy if you enjoy making minimum wage and this is the place is the place to keep taking orders from.
Drinks are delicious. We ordered the seafood appetizer plate for $90. It was mainly French fries with cheese. Service is good.
This place is a bit out of the way, but worth going to. The food is more authentic than most places and quite delicious. I had the tlacoyos and the waiter took the time to explain to me where the dish comes from and a bit about it. Margarita was a generous poor and quite refreshing.
Always a great choice friendly service and delicious food!I strongly recommend the pizzabirria and shrimp cocktail.
We tried to give the establishment the benefit of the doubt. We waited 15 minutes before we were even greeted or acknowledged, but we should have known when the waitress served us a 1/2 full basket of broken chips....the chips that are literally on the bottom of the Doritos chip bag!I Ordered 3 tacos with rice and beans. The rice and beans were cold. Tacos were hot but they seriously lacked any taste.We ordered an appetizer - carne asada fries - they were warm, not hot. The appetizer was served 1 minute before we received our entree. The nacho cheese was luke warmWhen it was time to pay.. our waitress went MIA - missing in action for at least 15 minutes before we asked a random server if we could pay our bill. We were finally able to pay our bill at the bar.We departed from the establishment and we will never return to the establishment which I think had horrible service and tasteless food.I would seriously take my review into account and save your money and go somewhere else... downtown Sac or California Burrito in West Sac...
Great place for adults, the food is amazing and the drinks are creative and delicious. Parents, I don't suggest bringing your kids, they do have a small section of the menu for kids but I think this place is best experienced for adults, dates, girls night, etc..
