Best Japanese restaurant in Sacramento (and arguably alot of other Northern California cities)! Excellent / unique cocktail menu (go for the open sesame if you like a palate cleanser).High quality fish and you cannot go wrong with anything you order.I’d recommend sticking to sashimi/nigiri as their specialty (the goldeneye snapper and sea bream are my fav!)For a special occasion- splurge on their omakaze for an unforgettable time!
I was with a party of 5 and have learned more than once that reservations are a MUST at Kru. We shared the wagyu beef, King roll (lobster), karaage chicken (with multiple sauce options), double order of oysters that had a splash of a vinaigrette, caramelized pork belly, and gyoza. I had an ahi toro hand roll which was delicious but I prefer my toro in slices, this was the traditional toro that had been scraped from the belly of the tuna. Everything was absolutely delicious but two things that were unforgettable were the American wagyu beef and the gyoza. The beef was so tender it melted in my mouth, and the gyoza were so plump and full of flavor unlike I’ve ever had! The service was spot on and I can’t thank Zach enough for making my birthday dinner so special!
Now that’s my favorite sushi place! Every sushi roll that we ordered was delicious. I recommend King roll, Tesla roll, Sunshine roll and Poke Trio.Beautiful, modern and very clean place. It’s important for me in America :D
This is our favorite restaurant in Sacramento! The food, service, and atmosphere is outstanding. The fish is very high quality and always tastes fresh. We enjoy sitting at the sushi bar and watching the chefs make the sushi. Overall great place, and we can’t wait to come back again.
The food was great, the service exquisite. Better for you to have a reservation even on Mondays, this place has a great menu to choose from, hostess was amazing and made sure we got everything we needed. We got the Tesla roll and also the Kings. Both of them were just amazing and super tasty. The presentation was good, but my party were to hungry and forgot to take pics before we started eating. Definitely coming back. The oysters omg they were just a great choice. Give BIG STARS. Thank you.
This is a great sushi bar..exquisite. sitting at the bar gives you the real experience of what goes into making sushi. Best miso soup I've ever had. The pics do not have my food because it was so good we downed it before I realized..take a picture. However, the sashimi we had was a beautiful presentation and throughly delicious. Great fun..thanks everyone.
Always love coming to Kru. We moved from SoCal last summer and missed our fav sushi spots until we found Kru. Out server Matthew was great this evening, made some solid recommendations!
Omakase is where it is at. The sushi is incredible, the service top notch, but sitting at that counter with the chef catering your evening, priceless experience. Every thing Billy gave us was incredibly delicious, the sake he recommended was paired perfectly with every single piece served. Presentations of our food was so pleasing and tasted just like it appeared. We’ve came twice for this experience and can’t wait or come again, I highly recommend.
