The bartenders are straight mixologists and they love doing what they do drinks were phenomenal. My husband asked for something spicy and he got just what he asked for. It was a great drink made with fresh jalapenos and crushed blackberries topped with beautiful flower. 5 stars for the bartenders and drinks. Food on the other hand was a 3.Sorry I didn't take any photos, next time!!
First time here at Honey and the Trapcat. Inside is a typical bar with pool tables. Outside they have a nice patio. First downside was you have to order at the bar which is a far way from the patio. I ordered the Breakfast Burger with a veggie patty. Beware the veggie patty has some cheese in it. It was ok but not great. The bun can make or break a sandwich and this one broke it. Very heavy and bready like something you would get at a grocery store. I prefer the Carls Jr Breakfast Burger with a Beyond Patty much more. My boy got a regular cheeseburger and he liked it. The fries were good. I asked The waitress that brought us our food if they had refills on drinks and she said no you have to pay. I thought she would offer to get them but didn’t. The bartender came out later to deliver some food and he offered to get me a refill so I added a star. Not many burger options in Old Town but wouldn’t come back for the burger I had.
The bartender was a nice guy. He did a good job quickly preparing our drinks, even though my sister ordered a more complicated drink. I ordered a rum and coke. He was generous with the rum. My sister also enjoyed her drink.The food was average. I enjoyed my hot chicken sandwich except that it was 2 chicken strips instead of one patty. It was falling apart as a result. Otherwise, the chicken strips were well cooked, not dry at all. The sandwich was very yummy. However, good chicken strips in a bar seems average to me.I liked the decor theme, it matches the rest of Old Sac. The room itself just felt like a basement, which it is, but it didn't feel like a bar. The biggest factor was the cold white lighting. I think warmer lighting would make the room more welcoming. Additionally, it would be nice if some of the booths had seating on the other side of the table. Between the music and my sisters seated in a line next to me, it was harder to talk to each other. It was midnight on a Saturday but the place felt very empty.Overall, this place wasn't very welcoming and we left after we finished eating and one drink. The employees we interacted with were only factor that really redeemed this place in my mind.
Food was average. My chicken strips came with no fries for $8. My boyfriend ordered the spicy guacamole burger for $14 and was a disappointment as well. Bun was cold. Portions could be better. I enjoyed the music they had playing! Would probably be back for drinks with friends but would NOT purchase food again.
Don't be fooled by this tourist trap. I had the bacon wrapped hot dog and the Jif Burger. Both were sub par to say the least. The host was nice.
The burger was terrific as well as the service. Will definitely be coming here again for some drinks and maybe play some pool. The food and the people as I said were great but they had me hooked as soon as I walked in the door. 90s hip hop was playing and it took me back to my teens. Specifically 93 and 94 hip hop seemed to be the genre that night. The music set the tone for a fun nostalgic night of great tasting food with a lot of smiles and laughter. Had to get the asparagus fries and I promise you I was not disappointed. Liked it better with the ranch though. You can't leave until you try the asparagus fries. ?
Great place to get away from the crowds of Old Sacramento and try something new!! Don’t walk by come on in!! Very knowledgeable bartender’s and great craft cocktails
I have nothing negative to say about this establishment. Great food, drinks, and entertainment, such as a few TVs and pool tables. It's a very spacious building with two bars and many places to sit even outside. During the night it's a wonder, take your favorite person or folks and enjoy life.
Great bar and place to socialize! Ultra cool place for wonderful drinks. Bartenders are mixologists. Care about their craft and create beautiful, interesting drinks. You just tell them what you like; herbal, citrus, sweet, spicy etc. And which alcohol and they'll create something special just for you!! Amazing!!!
Great place inside I like how they have 2 bars and a few pool tables just a great place to chill eat drink great seating In the back great outdoors with heaters and a TV out there as well... The food looks Delicious especially there cheese burger and fries but might have to try There Asada fries.. Great place to bring friends or a date.. The bartender is funny cool laid back
