Wow, great lunch today with my wife. We have been waiting to come to GUMBO KING, and it was well worth the wait.Very friendly and welcoming, the service was very good. The hostees and serve were helpful with the menu choice .We ordered the KINGS CHICKEN DINNER.? and QUEENS FISH DINNER. Both were very good, great portions, the side are excellent. Try the greens ? very good, my wife's candied yams were great.Check out the full bar.We will be back!HIGHLY RECOMMEND, YUMMY FOOD.And the corn bread was so good.

The food is excellent! Too bad the food didn’t reflect the service though. I ordered the gumbo wings as an appetizer and didn’t get it until an hour later along with my entree. When they brought out the wings they didn’t even add the gumbo roux. The waiter claimed that we asked for plain wings which was not true. I Had to wait an additional 20 min to get the roux after having to ask the waiter 2x and walk up to the food station area to ask for the stuff I initially ordered. A

We went here to watch the NBA game ? 6. There were at least 4 tv's. We sat near the biggest one. The hostess was great. Chef Tom came out and greeted us. In fact both owners were there working their business and interacting with customers. The atmosphere was great! The food was delicious! I had Gumbo wings, fried cabbage, and dirty rice, and cheesecake banana pudding *it taste like cheesecake tho* but... baybee! #yum!!! Great soul food. FrFr!!
Tried this place out for Father’s Day and it was everything I hoped for. I had never had gumbo in my life and it was amazing. My husband loves seafood so it was right up his alley as well. The atmosphere was very friendly and had a “family reunion” kinda feel. Restaurant was super clean, staff was attentive and courteous, music was playing at appropriate level to be able to vibe but still hear your own conversation. The chef came out out and did a short but nice meet and greet with everyone. That was a lovely touch!Be prepared for a bit of a wait on the food. It’s a new business and they are booked and busy so that’s expected. The food is well worth the wait anyway!
Love the food except some of my yams were a little hard and undercooked. The shrimp dinner was yummy and greens were amazing and flavorful. Really LOVE the Professional customer service. I can definitely appreciate that because that’s important to all patrons. Will be back.
This place is absolutely amazing. My fiance and I walked in, and was immediately greeted with a welcome in King and Queen. Totally grabbed our attention. The drinks were amazing. And the food, baby let me tell you about the food! I almost killed myself, just looking at the menu it was overwhelming in a good way. I wanted to order everything on the menu. I ordered the crab meal with the two sides, fried rib dinner and a 3 piece chicken dinner. Two berry margaritas.. KING HENNEY, AND A SHOT OF PATRON. everything was amazing!!!!!!! This is our new spot. If you love soul food, comfort food,real black food than this is the spot. I spent $ 200 and would gladly do it again. The prices were good. Customer service was great! This place is what us black folks need. Mac and cheese was great. We will be back. I almost forgot about the side of catfish that we ordered ?
You guys food was great four stars for know. Liked how we were greeted. With respect and called king and queen. Real soul food . The chef keep up the good job man. If you guys don't change the way you guys are the next month I'll give you guys five stars I'm already telling people about you guys place already
