Special thank you to Griselda's Catering & Event Planning she was responsible for helping me with the amazing food on our special day. They were professional, had great customer service, and the food was fantastic. My family and friends loved the food.
5 Star prices and 5 star customer service.
The location is convenient, salads are always fresh, and staff is very friendly and inviting. I was extremely disappointed a few months ago however when I purchased their “HOMMADE†vegetable soup. Apparently hommade simply means adding chunks of onion and celery to what is clearly canned soup. The flavor was overpowering and the size and texture were off putting Benefit of the doubt, I purchased the “homemade†split pea soup today. Once again I was disappointed to find a cup of canned soup loaded with crunchy onions and celery. Definitely recommend the salads but will not purchase their soups again. Strongly suggest they don’t list them as “homemadeâ€.
Fresh, huge salads, great sandwiches, homemade potato salad is awesome. California Turkey Sandwich is a great blend of flavors - bacon, turkey, pickles, cheese
Unfortunately they have been very unprofessional. We've been in contact back and forth about my wedding coming up. They never followed through. Communication is the worst. I met the owner in person, she seemed friendly, but when planning a wedding, I need someone who is on top of the communication.
I've eaten at The Big Salad Shop many, many times and still think they're a great change from La Bou. Locally owned (not a chain), everything is prepared to order and is fresh and delicious. They're prices are comparable. I try something different every time I eat there, and so far haven't been disappointed. Inside seating is limited, so get there before the noon crowd.
We were in downtown Sacramento for a day, and so glad we found this place just across the street from Capitol building. The name isn’t joking – it’s a BIG salad!! They also have sandwiches and other snacks – and great sides. Husband was still raving about the potato salad on the drive home. Lots of variety in salads, and really fresh – I had that salad with walnuts, cranberries, gorgonzola, and apple chunks. Amounts of ingredients very generous, and in perfect proportion. Lots of salad/sandwich options for the meat-eating people I was with, and also for my vegetarian self. Really efficient and friendly staff -- I noticed them greeting lots of people by name. The last review says new management started in March -- I'm guessing that's why lower earlier reviews. It's great now. Would definitely eat there again.
