Atmosphere, service, outstanding. However the food left me a little disappointed. It was a little bland. They stated they were understaffed and I'm hoping that was the issue. I'll definitely be giving them another chance.
For a late lunch I decided to try the restaurant. No red snapper but I choose the salmon with two sides. I asked for double Mac and cheese because the greens were seasoned with turkey and being pescatarian I don’t eat land animals. I was not allowed to get double Mac and cheese but okay let me have the candied yams. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and tender (hats off to the chef) the yams were tasty but the Mac and cheese left me disappointed. I will return for the red snapper only! The peach cobbler was okay. I avoid the sides next time.
Wished I had taken more pictures I felt like I was at a cassino or addict Lawd have mercy Me and my cousins kept going to the counter swiping our cards for more food Customer Service was Great the owner were amazin I can't wait to go back and eat I'm gonna see if I can take a Bday party calling tomorrow It's about time we had a Soul Food Restaurant with Real People like us... so happy this was a success try it out

The food was SOOOOUL DELICIOUS!!!!The fish was fresh. The greens were tender. And the fried okra was tasty. A must go!!!
I’m here visiting from Chicago & I order the ox tail on door dash for $30 you would think I would get more than 3 baby pieces of meat & the presentation was just sloppy. I love supporting my black business but sometimes I just don’t be understanding & the prices be high, just to get a little amount. I’m going to stick with Chicago soul food. I might give a second chance because I I did place the order a hr before closing. Literally added pics haven’t even touch the food yet??♀️also no folk came with the food & for $30 you would think a drink came with it??♀️Update. The Mac & cheese have a lil burnt taste & the oxtail & rice & gravy is bland since I’m in a hotel i don’t even have salt & pepper to add to it but the greens have a lil flavor. Overall 1-10 being the best I will give it a 3-4. Maybe this was just because I order an hr before closing
Really good flavor, definitely homemade. Rice was mushy but the gravy helped. Greens were good. The macaroni and cheese, OH MY GOODNESS was awesome!!! Love the multiple cheeses! I didn’t give higher rating because of the fact I asked if the smothered chicken was dark meat. I told both people that I didn’t want white meat. I got home to find that they gave me chicken breast strips!!! They were out of peach cobbler so I got the sweet potato pie. Not only was the pie burnt, it was made with ? yams not sweet potatoes.I admit I ate the side of macaroni and cheese while driving. I just had to finish it. It was like lays potato chip commercial, I couldn’t eat just one bite?!Thank you for your prompt response. The young ladies that were taking the orders should know what parts of chicken is being served. It would’ve allowed me to order something different. Considering the fact that I’m new to the area there’s no way for me to have known what was no longer on the menu. I thought they were providing accurate information.I have been cooking for at least 4 decades so I definitely know the difference between sweet potatoes and yams as well as pumpkin. No matter which of the pies listed, ones first bite should not be just potato. It should’ve been smoother which avails the opportunity to taste spices throughout. I say it was yam pie because that’s what it tasted like as well as the color.
Oh my God I just ordered the steak&egg breakfast with grits and then I ordered biscuits and gravy with eggs over medium oh my God everything is so delicious I will be coming back I never had biscuits and gravy like this before and my steak was cooked to perfection I just can imagine what dinner is like ?
I'm never coming back here!! Bought 2 oxtail plates and spent $27 a piece on them. It didn't even come with a drink.oh, now I wouldn't have minded the price if the presentation and the quantity and quality of the food was good.It was over seasoned, very salty. It was mostly just a bunch of fat, no meat. The presentation did not look Pleasant to where you wanted to eat it. I should have took a picture, but I was so upset I didn't. Then the lady tried to play me and "forget" my change.She also kept trying to pressure my boyfriend to get a side dish he didn't want, and got kind of upset when he declined politely.I'm all for supporting my black businesses, but not when they don't give you the quality and quantity of food you deserve for the high price you have to pay
We were looking for a place that made oxtails that stayed open passed 8pm. I ordered the oxtails with the mac n cheese and greens peach cobbler and some kool-aid. My companion had the fried catfish plate with yams and fried okra. I read reviews where customers stated the portions were small. That is definitely not the case. Nice size portions and the food was great! Everything we ordered was good. I dont even like or eat okra but theirs was good.K was our server and she was AMAZING! Very attentive and made sure to let us know if they were out of anything! She bought our food out and made sure we had everything. She greets the customers as they arrive and everything. If she is unsure about something she is not afraid to ask someone for help! Overall it was a great experience. Where i live there arent good soul food places so i was happy we found this spot! Thank you!
