From a person who was born and raised in Chicago and moved to California and missing the amazing taste of an Italian beef sandwich. My hunt began and I’ve tried a few places out here and nothing came even close. I even drove to LA just to have Portillos but anyone from Chicago knows there are way better places for Italian Beef than Portillos. Drove by Chicago Fire and immediately told my husband to look at the menu and see if they have it on there. And sure enough they did. Stopped there for lunch and let me tell you it was like being back home. Now I will say I would’ve liked to see the meat more fluffed instead of stacked so you are not biting through all that meat at once. But honestly the flavor was there and the bread being all dripped in the au ju was the cherry on top. Definitely making that hour drive again to eat here. Also the pizza was way better then Giordanos just saying!!!
Lot of conflicted feelings about this place. Worked here for 3 years, loved my time there. Then they brought in a manager that wanted to fire me and the whole crew that opened it and rocked it. So a lot of wonderful feelings and some bad. This review isn't about my feelings though, it's about the food. And the food here is 100. Without a doubt. Always has been. I'm from Chicagoland. The food at Chicago Fire tastes like the pizza and beef from when I was growing up eating it at home. The food here is amazing.
Ordered via door dash again. As many have commented, they can’t get the order right. Ordered a large deep dish combo…. Received a dry ass cheese pizza an hour and a half later. Not the first time. And yes, we ordered correctly.
We had a great time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the signature drinks they prepared for us. Super fun night…
Really good deep dish pizza. Loved the artichoke wings. Staff were great. Very nice and clean restaurant. Love it when the server brings you refills before you are out.
Restaurant was clean and inviting. Atmosphere was excellent. Staff was friendly and attentive. We got wings, which were some of the best wings I've had in a long while, drinks and a large pizza. Excellent date night place. Can't wait to go again.
The pizza and pear salad are excellent! Service was great. Margarita was overpriced and not very good, but we'll go back and skip the drinks.
So, the website, outside of the restaurant, and impression of the place from others seemed like one of the upper scale places to go downtown.When i walked in and sat down, i couldn't help but notice that it smelled like the tables were wiped with dirty rags. We were greeted right away which was a plus, and the gentleman from the car took our order. Food was good. Idk if i would come back though. The smell was not pleasant. All i could think of was bad cheese and dirty wash rags all over the tables. It shouldn't smell anything but clean when you walk into a restaurant. The look of the restaurant looks way too cool to have to be put off by a smell.
Arrived early and the family was seated right away! Appetizer scrumptious! Garlic bone in and boneless wings! Wow! Small caesar salad..delicious! Then ordered 2 small deep dish pizzas! So wonderful!
I've been coming here for the past 8 years but lately their pizzas have gone down down hill. Their quality isn't the same. Their cheese isn't the same as it used to be. Please go back to your old recipe. Customer service is good.
