The key to enjoying the food here is coming when they are not busy, and believe me, they get busy (especially in the late evening and night). I truly enjoy this place because most of their menu items are plays on Mexican street foods and they also have really good vegetarian options. One of my favorites is the veggie pambazo and veggie mulitas. It's something different than traditional Mexican restaurants, so a must visit!
We had our son’s and daughter in law’s rehearsal dinner in the back patio. I cannot say enough about Mario and the kitchen staff, servers and bartenders. They were the easiest to deal with and they anticipated all our needs! Very professional! It was absolutely amazing, beautiful fiesta. The food was second to none. We ordered the homemade churros for dessert and they were fresh and warm. IF you are looking for a place to have a celebration, please look no further. They also allowed us to decorate a few hours before. We were able to hang paper pompoms and unlighted white paper lanterns. The do have the party lights already in place.
Our waitress was good but they told us at a certain time we would have to leave because of a band performing. There was a cover charge for the band and we understood so we agreed. But they started rushing us prior to the time they stated we can stay. They were rude about it as well. Plus the food wasn't that good for the price. If you want Mexican food there are way better options in Sacramento.
What happened to this place? Chando’s tacos used to be good. Now they all taste different depending on which location you go to. The quality of their food is not there anymore . With so many taco spots in Sacramento. You can clearly taste the difference.I recommend anyone stopping by a taco stand on the street. For a true authentic taco experience. You’re not gonna find that I Chando’s tacos Jack-in-the-Box mini tacos taste better lol
If you're from Sacramento, you know Chando's. Chando's is a Sacramento staple for tacos & burritos. Their two Cantina locations (one Downtown and one in El Dorado Hills) are full service restaurants with a full bar, a giant fun patio in the back, and a concert hall which features live music, such as banda & mariachi, throughout the week. I ordered the Chando's Chicken Burrito with jack cheese, fresh cilantro, diced onions, creamy guacamole, lettuce, fresh pico-de-gallo, sour cream, and tangy salsa expertly wrapped and rolled into a monster flour tortilla.
This was my 1st time visiting the establishment. My waitress was super nice. The margaritas were so delicious. The live entertainment was great! The food was good! The reason for the 1-star review reasons is as follows:1. The bill listed gratity 18% for a party of 6. We were a party of 4!2. The owner sent over 4 shots (we did not order); those 4 shots were ADDED to our bill. Incredibly offensive.3. The bill itemized thing's that we did not order. Such as puree that was in the drinks and the liquor that went into the drink. Shots that no one had ordered. I guess that's why the drinks did not have a price as the drinks were itemized, depending upon what you ordered. The whole bill situation was very unsettling. I was just thinking I wonder how many other people this has happened to.This was my first and last time to ever visit this establishment. I have never felt so offended on my birthday.
Looks to be MAJOR expansion of the old Chando's hut. Tacos are still tasty and the service good and friendly. Will definitely eat here when I'm in Downtown Sacto again.
The quality here may have been something in the past. This is not true today. To start, their dark chips taste like bad store bought chips. As does the salsa and guacamole. Everything is overly salted. The burrito had a simple request - no onion. They seemed to put extra onions on it. It was a bad experience.
Food and service were great. They seem to not have the ability to heat the place. We had light jackets on and were cold all through dinner. We'll go back again for the food.
Great margaritas…Great food…Great outdoor patio, and HUGE!!!Service was good and we had a great time.Did I mention the margs were great? And solid size!The chips and guacamole were very good and had their own flare.Green enchiladas were very good.Chicken mole was great!Highly recommended.
