Everything was great.... I think bc it was a Michelin star, I expected the food to be mind blowing and although it was excellent, it wasn't mind blowing. Staff was great, ambience looked amazing, chairs were a bit uncomfortable but still fine.

Good setting. Service questionable. The waiter did not bring coasters for drinks when serviced, so condensation dripped all over the table. When requested, the waiter did not bring coasters so we had a wet table over dinner. Also, when the waiter poured water for us he did not pour it for our guest who was a person of color. Dinner was on July 31, 2022.
Fourth time we have eaten at Canon, and we will be back again. First tie trying the Sunday special fried chicken and it was a hit. It is our favorite restaurant in Sacramento. We will be back again.

My friends and I came on a Wednesday around 6pm and we could barely find any street parking. This is not the restaurant's fault or anything but it was terrible to have to walk 4 blocks in the 100 degrees heat. Anyways, once we walked in we felt better. The decor is very nice but we sat by the kitchen and it was hot. The AC didn't seem to cool the whole place down enough.As for the food and service, it was good but not amazing. I dont know what I was expecting but I left kind of disappointed for the price I paid for the whole meal. Although the cornbread was the best cornbread I've ever had, the chicken drumsticks and some of the other dishes just didn't wow me. The NY strip steak was just ok. Some parts were very fatty and chewy. Overall it was a good experience but not sure if I would want to come back, especially during the summer.
