Understaffed for dine-in, clearly catering to “take out”! Self-serve areas were a sanitary disaster, especially the drink area! Staff working hard, but spread too thin. Tables not cleaned, observed no “Covid” type sanitizing going on, by the same people bring your exposed food to table. We had ribs, steak, fish, burgers and everything was so over cooked and dry, you had to use the sauces just to get it down. The fish tacos were an embarrassment in presentation and taste. Considering the cost, service, quality of food, I would have rather taken my family of 8 to MikeyD’s !
It was my first time at this location and it was great! I'm so high maintenance at Buckhorn because I like so many specific things and want them all together. So my go to is the Asian Chicken salad in a tortilla bowl and instead of tortilla strips I get the fried onion strings. It is so frickin' good!! I usually ask for the dressing on the side, however, because sometimes they can br heavy handed when mixing it in. My BF got the pulled pork tacos and said they were good. Plus he got the tri tip bites, and it was way too much food. What's great is that their leftovers are really delicious as well. The staff was super friendly and efficient. I encourage you to get their app. They are very generous with their rewards. I highly recommend this place to anyone.
It was great! We came 1/2 hour before close but we still got great service. We all loved our sandwiches and platter. My husband kept talking about how great his sandwich was, so lean and delicious. He didn't even use BBQ sauce!All around great experience.
I got the regular chicken platter and one cocktail and the cost was about $40. The food was good, Maybe even really goodAnd Pretty Fresh and healthy. The portion was just enough for one meal - in fact I was still a little hungry and asked what kind of dessert they had only to be told they already closed the cash register and I couldn't order anything else. So to me the value isn't there to go very often for a regular Monday night meal - if the portion were bigger and there was a little leftover for lunch the next day or if they had some midweek or after work special of the day Then I would be a regular.. However I will say that my fairly particular Three-year-old nephew with severe allergies really likes it here-he always finishes his plate( Including vegetables) and has never had a reaction!
This was my first visit to the Buckhorn BBQ and I was impressed. The service was excellent and fast, and the entire staff was very friendly. The place was very clean and welcoming, but the food. O my gosh the prime rib was awesome. I should have known when I was asked hiw I wanted the meat cooked and they recommended medium rare that it was going to be great. Yes this was my first visit, but it won't be my last.
A fantastic BBQ place to eat in Sacramento. I was fairly impressed with this visit. I decided on the fish tacos. They were crispy and quite tasty. The best part was that I had my food roughly 5 minutes after ordering. It was a good quick in and out that was quite satisfying. There’s outdoor seating available for those nice weather days. The special sauces were to die for, especially the chipotle ranch. Try it out. So good!
Tri tip buck caramelized onions and dipping sauce. Toasted battered bread and Jake's yummy beans. Medium rare tri tip steak cooked with smoke flavor
Had a great BBQ lunch (my girlfriend and I shared this and still had leftovers). Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the food.
Great food and atmosphere…
Very dissapointed. Burger itself was HUGE, and made sloppy. Hella sauce dripping everywhere almost couldn't tell if there was a patty in it or not so I take the wrapper off to get a better bite and there's HAIR! For some odd reason no matter where I dine there is hair in my food. Maybe it's a sign I should stop wasting my money eating out. Loss of money and appetite for dinner.
