TL;DR: We got absolutely horrible service and were overcharged for okay food. Not worth the trouble.This was hands down the worst service I have had in a long time. We got there when the place was mostly empty, yet it still took roughly 30 minutes just to get our drink order in (that we had to give to the hostess) which took another 45 minutes to actually receive. By the time our waiter talked to us, it had been over an hour. Several tables around us had come and gone by then. Then over the next 45 minutes our food came out at random times, and everyone ended up eating separately. The first of our group was finished by the time the next person got theirs. On top of ALL of this, I come to realize the next day that I had been charged an automatic 18% gratuity (on top of the 15% I charitably gave), which would be fine if that had been clearly indicated as I was paying the bill. The food was okay, but absolutely not worth this.
3 people standing around doing nothing, still took them 5 minutes to seat me, which is when I was told they would come back to take my drink order... Another ten mins and she took my food and drink order. Brought out my soda, which was completely flat. Said they'd bring me another, which they did.... Only slightly better. She said they forgot to put ice in it so it went flat, but they would bring me Another after it had chilled a bit. Finished my meal without them bring me a good drink.Only 3 other customers on a Friday at 12:30.......should have realized there was a reason..... Ordered mixed tempura. Some of them were cold inside.... Not sure how something you deep fry can come out cold, but it did. When I left, still only 3 people. Including myself.... Won't be back.
Service is seriously slacking here over the past 6 months. Took over 45 minutes to make 1 roll which never came out before I gave up and left. This is when there were at least a dozen open tables. Tried giving it another shot for lunch, called in to place my order. Nobody answered the phone after 5 calls. Walked in, nobody greeted me after 5 minutes. When someone did come to the front, it was with food in there hands and by then 3 separate groups were waiting when half the restaurant was empty. They also have clearly marked their prices on rolls up, seemingly to keep up with the “50% off”. Hopefully they get it together. Very dissatisfied.
Ever since the owner got rid of Mr. Chen the manager this place went to S*** along with other servers and bartenders. That man cared for the place as his own and the employee's all loved working under him. Now the food isn't as great and don't even get me started with the poor service.
Be careful! This location will automatically tip themselves 20% at your expense. The waitress said it was 10% but it was 20%. I usually tip 20%. I like coming here even though parking can be scarce. But not anymore. I usually tip 20%, the wait staff shouldn't expect it.
Under staffed took a while to get seated, some people in front of us left probably due to no one assisting them.Server was friendly and when we did finally order food came out quickly.I had the Korean BBQ Rice Bowl while the wife and kids had sushi.Service was fine but initially very slow to be seated, it wasn't very busy time of day.
I've literally never been disappointed eating here! They hit it on the nail every single time! Food is great! Short ribs, ahi poke, Americano, buffalo wings, miso soup.. everything! Special shout out to our waitress Charlene..we had her the last 3 times and she made me want to do a review for the first time in 7 years!!
I ordered a dragon roll and the roll tasted great. However, the roll size felt really small. But my roll was half off! My roll normally is $26.Service was fast, wonderful and the food tasted great. I'll be trying it again soon. Make sure if you go for rolls you go when they offer 50%!
Ordered tuna donburi. The fish isn’t very fresh and the expensive meal is pretty much a mound of rice and 9 pierces of fish (for 25 dollars). No soup or salad. Food was fine it was just pretty underwhelming.
Amazing food and great prices! Glad that we ate here. You will be too!
