Came on Friday night 8:05pm, didn’t realize they close at 8:30. The order came pretty quickly but it’s hard to eat the piping hot noodles. They stared moping the floor at 8:15pm with bleach or some strong cleaning product. I ended up having most of my noodles packed to go. Felt rushed. Note: The side order meat price has doubled. The inflated price was not reflected on the order form($5 instead of $2.50 as printed). The food tasted average.Downgraded to 1 star after my credit card was charged a few more dollars to the total.

Northern Cafe is a Chinese Noodle shop that is recommended by many of my Chinese friends who lives in LA and it's a real gem.I saw they make a fresh Tor-Xia noodle right when I got into the restaurant. Tor-Xia noodle is a rare noodle that wouldn't find it easily. I'd love to have it so bad, but my Chinese friend said, leave it to her. So I better shut my door and wait for her to order.Everything looked very delicious, unfortunately, we had so many foods already, and we were because of the fried Roti wrap with slices of grilled beef, scallion, and Hoi-Sin sauce. It's very very good, I remember I had it before in NY and it was a lot saltier!!Beef Slices combine with a scallion aroma and a touch of Hoi-Sin sauce. TA-DA! it was perfect!Another order was a side dish which is a shredded tofu skin, with a slice of cilantro, and carrot with a hint of sour flavor. If I know it's this tasty, I'd order 2 more! lolMy friend promised me to bring me to Northern Cafe again for my next visit. Can't wait for that!#director_eat_out

Great place to have some hot tasty noodle. Price been up in 2021, but the same with the quantity. Two regular beef noodle with one side could easily feed family of four.

They are not as good as before. After the pandemic they jet up the price. For the noodle it is still acceptable but for the appetizer it is crazy. $10.99 for three items and one one meat allowed. Almost no one order it any more. I tried today and got diarrhea maybe it has been sitting there too long. They a lot of vinegar and garlic to cover the smell but I can still tell it is not fresh.

This is not a good place for people who do not know what to order. I would recommend researching your order before going. The spicy noodle soups are super spicy and Szechuan chili oil is added so it really gets to the back of your throat. We ordered the House Special Beef Noodle Soup, Scallion Pancake, and Juicy Beef, Chive Dumplings. The dumplings are authentic and the noodles are handmade. There is a chef in the back hand making the noodles so the noodles are imperfect and smooth. If you cannot eat a large soup on your own, I would recommend sharing.

I kind of have mixed feelings about the place. On one hand, their noodles are bomb and the soup tastes like liquid fire with all sorts of Chinese goodness. The crayfish are just amazing; it makes Cajun style seafood taste almost bland in comparison and the beef hamburger is just to die for. The only issue is that I'm pretty sure the staff put water in the soup when they're short of it. The soup can be pretty inconsistent. One day it tastes like an absolute firebomb broth and on another it just tastes like dishwater. idk what is going on but the owner needs to address this issue, especially considering how prices are going up.

I love beef noodle soup so decided to try this spot. Their broths are mainly clear as I like the dark broths more.. but it was still flavorful. There was an option of braised beef noodle soup but they gave us one one that was clear broth which made me think.. we must have ordered wrong or their braised is just clear broth.. 10 min of eating… they came and said that they gave us the wrong bowl.. we already ate it and it wasn’t bad so we told them it’s fine. They have different types of noodles! For $12 a bowl.. the portions are pretty big. There are also small dishes in the front which you’d have to order at the register place. I love the small dishes but keep in mind it is pretty pricey. I want to come back to try the braised bowl.

Side dishes are great.I got the numb/spicy noodle soup with fatty beef and it somehow was quite spicy and numbing but very bland. The soup felt like 80% chili oil. If you were thinking about getting it, don't.

It was 3 years ago I went there and really enjoyed. My subsequent trips turned out to be disappointing. It has become pricey but the food quality was down. I always ordered the Peking Duck, and the quality and taste were not there. I don’t mind the almost $100 price tag for a duck, but I dislike the unsatisfactory feeling when Ieft.

super bad experience, need to wait 30 minutes if to go,if you eat in only wait 10 minutes.
