A chain cafe of Japanese green tea (matcha) drinks and soft serve place. The matcha soft ice cream has bitter green tea taste which signifies quality but could be creamier if I am honest; nevertheless, a good place to get your green tea fix in the USA!
I have tried matcha float (?) first time at this store. First of all, the ice cream for the float is pretty big even though its regular size so you can share with the other person. If you go in the shop, you can find their 5 best menus so you can pick one from there. Its bit pricey (but these days, everywhere is pricey), but you can taste the Japanese matcha(?). Maybe... oh and if you want to try this float (but i recommend to try other menu first), please mix ice cream little bit with the green tea because if you eat ice cream first and sip the matcha, you wont taste of it.
I like the location & the way its decorated. They also have a cool little outside seating area. Get the mix half & half with the funnel cone.
Don’t have much of a reference as I’m not a matcha person, but my kids seemed to enjoy it. They said it tasted a bit “powdery” but otherwise strong flavors in the matcha ice cream and teas. We tried the matcha chocolate float, a tea and an ice cream cone but instead of matcha and vanilla swirl, I asked for half and half so I can taste the two separate and together. They had never done that before, but did it for me. Wasn’t pretty but it was perfect to try them separate and together. Appreciate that they made the effort. Wasn’t my “cup of tea” as the ice cream tasted more like ice milk than ice cream but again, this is my first time. I liked that I didn’t feel as guilty eating this vs 31 Flavors :). Service was very pleasant and appreciated they customized my cone
Ice cream was definitely made by powders, way too sweet .The cake under ice cream was dry and flavorless. My friend and I got sick after eat it. I DO NOT recommend it. Not worth the price.
Tried this place for the first time in Honolulu. Wife and I loved it. We had the mixed matcha soft serve on waffle cones. Found out there was another location in California. We tried it here in Rowland Heights & it was just like we remembered it to be. Tasty & perfect for any matcha lovers. We particularly love the texture of the soft serve here which has a nice smooth icy texture. Not heavy on the creamy or foamy like others. The waffle cones are House made which is nice. The owner is very nice & inviting. They have a loyalty card which I got filled up. Time to get that freebie!
Above my expectations matcha flavor is amazing and just how I like it
Good matcha soft serve! The matcha flavor is strong so you can taste the slight bitterness of the tea, which I love. Good texture and not too sweet. It’s definitely a step up from your regular green tea ice cream, but I could do with a bit more creaminess. The waffle cone was yummy, as well. I’ll have to come back and try their many other options.
