I was here some years back with a family member who grew up in Latin America and wanted to introduce me to Pupusas. When I asked my brother Jim if he would like Pupusas today he said the right thing= ¡SI'!! So we had wonderfully flavor filled combination Pupusas, every bite perfect. & the young man serving us was so gracious and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place for Pupusas Autenticas!
Gotta be honest about my experience. When I first came I had a cashier that was a female looked a little different than the others with hippy type tattoos, but younger in age. She stared at me as if I was something different. It was bothersome and apparent. I'm not sure as to really why someone would take such time looking that hard at a complete stranger, but to continue I realized maybe because I'm black there is am actual problem for her internally. (Racism perhaps?) Anyway so I waited about 40 minutes for my food that I ordered to go. I noticed that about 7 other people had gotten their orders after me even though I was there before them. Then a lady who must of been a supervisor came up to me and asked my name for my order and agreed as if she just noticed like I was waiting for awhile. I think I'm pretty obvious as a person sitting that long there being the only black person in there. She apologizes and asked if I wan't a drink I declined this offer and just laughed it off. Finally, about 10 minutes later here is my food... I left right after and then I proceeded to eat- well the food was just average I thought it would be authentic testing for the amount of time it took to make , but no it was just garbage- my 5 year old could have made it in half the time. Save yourself the grief- first: of feeling like your unwanted at an off at like establishment then secondly: served slow af and lastly: less than average taste in food. Spoil alert this place is less than average there's a spot right across the street that serves Hispanic food and I think that's the better option just by the treatment by this place. I will go there next time. And I bet their attitude won't be like that or I'm leaving ASAP.
Very nice service. Food was amazing. I would recommend trying their AL Pastor meat in the Locos Nachos, or in a Super Burrito. Awesome! I will return.
This family owned restaurant features an amazing menu, (try the Pupusa Burger) and friendly service every time! Discover it for yourself.
Papusas are a dish that can be either amazing or awful. Don Julio's are the former. Rich, tasty, not overly greasy. Absolutely perfect. And the Papusa burger? A novelty for the super hungry that is delicious despite the novelty nature.
Normally I love this restaurant. But when your child has a dairy allergy and you order no cheese only to get home and discover your burritos are loaded with cheese, makes you not want to return.I hope the staff takes note that some people have serious food allergies and dairy can send some into Antaflactic shock. ?
AMAZING DINNER! The pupusas are too good, perfect price for a student budget! The sour guava mimosa is going to be on my mind for a very long time… SO GOOD. wholesome and genuine experience, I can’t wait to come back. Great service and friendly environment.
1st time coming here. The staff is very friendly and professional. Great customer service. Good food.
Pupusas! Yum! Being half Mexican & half Salvadorian, you get the Best of both world's. I was recommended Don Julio's by a very good friend. Ordered 4 pupusas. 2 revueltas (pork & beans, & cheese) 2 revueltas with chicken (chicken beans & cheese). They were a nice big size for what they cost. Definitely worth it.
The tropical burritos and assortment of pupusas are worth a visit, but everything seems equally delicious. Everyone there is always incredibly friendly as well!
