What happened to Mel's. Use to love a banana milkshake treat from Mel's, they were great, real banana mixed in. Ordered 1 for a treat and wow totally changed. They now must use banana syrup instead of real banana. The flavor was super sweet with a nasty chemical flavor. I am hoping a one off but doubting it. $7.95 is outrageous and a waste of money for a chemical flavored banana shake poured down the drain.
We were looking for a place to get food on the fly after landing in Sacramento heading for Auburn, this location stayed open late (until midnight I think) and we could order ahead online and pick it up for take out so it ended up being perfect. Menu was your usual diner fare but pretty extensive, food was solid, good and filling, although I don't honestly remember what we got because of their strawberry shake. So good it erased my memory of the food, and they use real strawberries. Very impressed. Service was fast and friendly, as I said we just did take out but the place was hopping, almost always a good sign. Would definitely come back.
We love Mel's Diner, unfortunately the menu has changed since Covid. It's quite limited and my favorite item is now off the menu. Large portions and its kid friendly. Still worth the visit.
Used to love this place after a drunken night. If you're into diners this is a great place. Im just not into quick meals any longer.Best RANCH EVER!!!
Been in Lincoln area now 10 months have had dozens of deliveries from multiple restaurants for breakfast Mel's trumps them all huge portions with great flavor and is always delivered in 30 min or less in a sealed bag and still warm.ive tried skillets and omelets. You won't be disappointed
it was great. our waitress there was so amazing. she was legit so chill and somehow put up with my friend Nate who doesn't stop talking. ?
I did not have a good experience here. At all.New employees were being trained that night. I get that service would be slower, and I kind of expected that, but this was textbook awful. Three different servers (not new, nor training anyone) came to my table. One took our drink order, a second took the food order, and a third brought us the check. Oh, and the check was for the wrong table! Trying to get the correct one seriously made me consider walking out without paying (which I haven't done in almost 30 years!).Don't waste your time going here. Sorry, Mel! It's nothing personal. I just can't endorse garbage service.
We come here about once a week. The food is great. But the employees are what make this place perfect. You can always tell when employees are happy at their jobs. They are friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your meal. Also, once you get your check... they don't ignore you if you need a refill or anything. The Manger Devin seems to be doing an amazing job at this location.
Great food but the service was lacking Did not seem to be a manager on duty But the food is absolutely outstanding I think management needs To be addressed what good is the business of management is not available
I ordered a chicken basket. I was served shrimp. I don't eat seafood. It took over an hour to bring out the correct order and 3 different servers and a cook coming to the table to tell me they were trying to figure out the mistake. By the time the food arrived everyone else was done eating and kids needed to go to bed. No apologies from the staff. Manager charged for the food but did take my soda off the bill. Another order in our party was made incorrectly also but she didn't dare say anything after it became clear how difficult it was to make my order right.
