This place is always crowded and expect to wait during lunch and dinner. Servers are friendly and Chefs are accommodating to customers request. Serving sizes are average and choices of cut or hands rolls are plentiful. The bad part is, they don't have quail egg or oyster shooters. The dining area looks like a stockroom rather than a restaurant. They already included a 15 % tip on the bill. This place is not what it used to be.
I haven't been to this establishment in quite some time but I can say without a doubt that something has clearly changed. The sushi is bland, warm, and soggy at best. Out of six dishes ordered only one was good. Additionally, every single food preparer spent the majority of their time watching soccer versus focusing on their work. My memory of this establishment was a good one, with proper sushi chefs and excellent food. This is simply a hollowed out shell of its former self.
We have always wanted to try this place for a long time and so glad we did on this past Easter Sunday for a dinner. We called in and they picked up fast and took the order fast. Prices are very reasonable for the great food quality. We ordered the La Sierra Roll and Combo B sushi (which comes with 15 decent size sushi including 6 spicy tuna or California Rolls, salmon 2 pieces, tuna 2 pieces, albacore 2 pieces, and one shrimp 1 piece). The Combo also comes with a miso soup. The La Sierra rolls we ordered were made of spicy tuna and cucumber wrapped with seared salmon, spicy mayo and green onions. Delicious! No wonder the place is always crowded every time we pass by. Highly recommended.
Absolutely worst sushi restaurant I have ever been to! Sat there 45 minutes after order was taken and only had 1 sushi roll. 20 minutes after we arrived there were a couple people who were being seated and had their orders delivered to their table within 15/20minutes from arrival to order being placed (yes I checked the time). After we got our order we did not even have the complete order. We only had 1 sushi roll brought to us and ignored after that for another 10-15 minutes. We had to ask about the rest of the order which had to be re requested to be made.....again. $100 for "all you can eat"? for 2 sushi rolls? Not worth it! Make a trip a little further down on Magnolia to sushi okoku or surrounding sushi restaurants instead, do not waste your time or money in this place!
Cheap CHEAP super-poor quality sushi. Dyed tuna. (You can see the pink runoff of the dye on the tray!) Rubbery nori. Gummy, overcooked rice. Various toppings forgotten. Pre-packaged ginger "bits" instead of nice, clean, fresh sliced ginger. I guess....what do you expect from an all-you-can-eat place? (The search for high quality food in Riverside....an exercise in disappointment.)
The food was great and so was the service. Now you may ask, why 4 stars instead of 5? Well the answer is quite simple. They automatically ad a 13% tip to each bill. I am a firm believer that a tip should be paid based on good service. Now the service today was great and normally I would have tipped my server much better than 3%. But if they are going to charge you a tip. Whether or not it is deserved. Then I will not tip any higher than what they take. Thus the 4 stars.
I used to come here all the time! It was my all-time favorite sushi spot! I haven't been here for about 5 years, since I was living out of state and then COVID. The quality of the food and restaurant service has decreased a lot. While I was still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, I was extremely confused why my bill for just 2 people was over $80! We both did the AYCE, I had water, and my friend had a sprite. We didn’t leave any food. It shouldn’t have been so much!It wasn't until I read other reviews that I realized that the restaurant adds a 13% gratuity WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT! They lied because in their rules, it says that they only charge a gratuity when it's a party of 6 or more!I was still nice enough to leave a tip, because I had no idea they had already helped themselves to one! So I basically tipped them twice! That's stealing! It's not right! They took my receipt before I even had a chance to sign it! I'm never coming back! They should be ashamed!
Kind of expensive but good AYCE. Service was pretty fast and good vibes in the place. Wish some of the raw sushi and rolls were a little more fresh.
Great place to eat. One of my fave sushi spots in forever. Problem is they got really expensive and now add a 13 percent gratuity fee no matter what. For 2 adults i paid 97 dollars for ayce. It used to be 50. And service is garbage now. But food is still good
My favorite since it offers many no rice options
