This hole in the wall restaurant is the REAL DEAL!!! Food is absolutely delicious! I always find myself craving the black eyed peas and wish I can buy a huge pot of it and eat it throughout the week. You can feel and taste the authenticity!
Ordered fried "catfish".. not sure what I was eating.. it was bland bland bland. Will not return. potato salad was decent. Very disappointed
The food was great as well as the service. Well worth the price and it was enough for two people two meals with just one order 3x3. Will be going back

Tasty seafood. It was my first time going and I loved it. The potatoe salad was good too, just don't give you enough of it.
Moved to Richmond about a year ago and have passed Mississippi Catfish countless time. I have been missing out. I got the 3x3 Catfish & Prawn combo with coleslaw and potato salad. Fish and and prawns were super fresh, the breading was ? ? ? ***chefs kiss*** and for under $20 w hushpuppies. Food was so good I forgot to take a pic. Value and quality hard to beat I’d venture to say in the entire Bay Area. Oh I waited maybe 10 min for food - super fast service and the folks were super nice!!
I've been coming here for over 15yrs and they never seem to disappoint. They have the best catfish in town. Not over seasoned or fried. Nothing fancy just great food.
Awesome food. Reminds me of home in south GA. Will definitely be going back. Had awesome fish, prawns and Killer hush puppies too
So damn good. You might miss it as it's right between a motorcycle shop (Pro J's, also excellent!) and a smog shop, but it's well worth the stop! Cash only and limited hours due to the owner's semi-retirement, but absolutely delicious! Fair prices and generous portions, the sides are all great and the fish is perfect. I recommend them to everyone and try to always take out of town guests here.
