It's been a few years since they opened and my wife and I have been coming regularly since then. Each and every time we go we wonder why we don't visit more often ! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is awesome !Being from Barcelona it is hard to find pastries in the US that resemble what we had growing up. Well, Rufo and his team provides that and more !
Stick to the coffee and pastries ! Coffee was yummy but the panini I got was not good. Supposed to be Spicy Capicola with Gorgonzola but it tasted like a strong blue cheese was used instead. :/. Couldn’t eat it and it just wasn’t worth the money paid. Bummer because the description of the sandwich made it sound so good.
Absolutely delicious I got a spinach strudel, strawberry camel , and apple strudel . So good also had the breakfast bun . If you're ever in the area it's a must stop by.
Who knew there was an Italian deli on the frontage road in a office park off the highway? What a gem! They make their own Italian pastries, savory & sweet, AND also make salads, canzones, desserts, etc. We ordered this puff pastry with spinach and cheese, followed by a flaky sweet pastery w a touch of orange, topped off by the most amazing olive bread stick I've ever had in my life! I'm in love!!
They make great Italian style pastries. They are a bit pricy but each pastries are huge. It was good overall. My fav is the chocolate twist. The custard inside croissants was a bit too eggy for me. And the apple strudel was a bit bland. But I will definitely come over again to try the other stuff, especially their cakes and savory breads.
I’d come back to this location just to get a sfogliatella. I very rarely find a pastry that good. Crispy crackly flakey on the outside with tender and delightfully flavored (sort of an orange essence) dough on the inside. The olive bread stick is also a must-try. Great bread and great olives, you almost don’t need it to be more than the sum of it’s parts, though it is.We also got a custard croissant. The puff pastry was not great enough for me to buy again but the custard was great and they had a lot of other custard pastries that the friendly lady at the counter was more enthusiastic about herself, so i’d go for one of those next time. The espresso was solid and well balanced; the sour notes didn’t overwhelm the rest of the flavors as is epidemic. The drip coffee was mild, but nice; not an off note to be had.To summarize, the sfogliatella earned the 5th star and the espresso was good enough not to drop back down to four.
Excellent savory breads (olive breadsticks and topped foccacia).. Nice thin crust pizza for lunch.
Delicious food. Truly scrumptious. Love spending time there, to savor every bite.
Pastry looks great, but, tastes terrible! No flavor in fillings and cannot taste butter in pastry dough. Sooo disappointing; and way overpriced at $6.33 per ! I haven’t been able to find a decent pastry place in this area except for Semifreddie’s, 3 miles from where I stay. I’ll keep trying…
When I picked up my to go order, the man in the back, who had the appearance of an owner, was whistling while not wearing a mask. Even though they have signs on their door suggesting masks be worn. The person at the front was also not very friendly when I attempted to talk to her.I will never return here.
