Service was good, but the food wasn’t great. Not the worst, but certainly not worth what they charged. We had dim sum and ordered some of our favorite dishes. Each one was quite a disappointment. The Shanghai dumplings didn’t have a single drop of soup inside, they were practically dry. The fried turnip pancake didn’t taste like turnips, but mostly just oil and starch. The chicken feet were boring in flavor. They charge too much for this kind of quality. Is there a head chef? They need to level up their food or stop taking shortcuts with it.
This restaurant serves delicious dim sum and I will continue to drive over to Richmond for a tasty lunch but........the restrooms are terrible and I don't understand why a restaurant with this quality of food can 'serve up' such dirty bathrooms to their customers. Soiled, sticky floors, unwashed basins and a urine odor makes for an unpleasant visit. I have visited Asian Pearl on quite a few occasions and reluctantly head for the bathrooms knowing how unpleasant they can be. I urge this restaurant to update their cleaning policies without delay.
Awesome birthday dinner. Great Hong Kong pan fried noodles, dried fried green beans, pork fried rice, pork bao, pork&shrimp sui mai, egg rolls, fried dumplings, salt & pepper fried chicken. Great service.
OK. More authentic Chinese food than others. Just not my cup of tea.
If I could give a zero star I would! This place is a rip off! Extremely over-priced items with low quality and zero freshness! I literally had the worst diarrhea after eating here! Plus, the owner of the restaurant is the rudest I've ever seen! He has no respect for customers. He was being so sarcastic and rude while I placed my order here. I know you got a big restaurant here, but without customers you are nothing! Shame on you!
Tasty dim sum, restaurant has boxes piled up behind cashier, live seafood tanks, vaccine checks.
Very nice Chinese cuisines, many entrees are traditional.
Pretty good food and big portions as well. The lava sand dumplings for dessert were just okay, but the rice noodle beef was quite satisfying.
I was looking forward to trying food from this restaurant. I placed my delivery order at 6:41pm, well before closing time. I initially received a notice that my food would be delivered between 7:37pm and 7:47pm. Then, I get a notice that my delivery would be delayed to between 8:24pm and 8:34pm, so I was resigned to waiting longer. At 8:33pm, I contacted GrubHub to check if my order was on its way, since a driver was assigned to the order and the tracking had said earlier that the driver was heading to the restaurant to pick up the food. I got another delay notice saying my food was going to be delivered between 8:39pm and 8:49pm. I thought the person would be en route to me and was just delayed by traffic. Instead, I get notified that the restaurant canceled my order because they were closed. They canceled the order at 8pm, stating they were closed or no longer accepting orders. What the heck? I ordered at 6:41pm. They’re open until 8. If I hadn’t contacted GrubHub, who knows if the app would even tell me that my delivery got canceled. That was 30+ minutes wasted, waiting for an order. I was willing to wait for my dinner, instead I got poor customer service. Unfortunately, Asian Pearl won’t be on my list of restaurants for delivery options. Think twice before you place a dinner order for delivery from them. You may end up going hungry.
No Covid vaccine proof — no service. Love it!
