Small menu but interesting choices...yummy dessert and appetizer choices
We wanted a late night place with small bites, cocktails, good wine list and this is an excellent choice. You can actually get a reservation after 10 pm on a Saturday night if you wish these days. The late night bites are quasi comfort food - but the quality of the food is very high. The gem ceaser salad is super fresh and they use really clean oil for their French fries which are as crispy as potato chips with a vinegar aioli that is very very good. The salad comes with chicken if you wish and to my surprise it was also fried but so well done I had no complaints, This is one of the few places in the Bay area you can go a have a late bite. The parking is also easy and this is near the large cinema in RWC. My only comment is to be careful on the streets of RWC at that time of night. Someone put silly string on our windshield and while we were walking back around 10:45 pm we had a couple of young guys aimlessly following us, for which I have New York kind of tactics like moving to the edge of the street, giving them a good look and so on. They pretended to go into the parking garage but surfaced quickly later on the street as we were getting into our car and then they went down the street for their next opportunity. The police are cruising the area but at that time I had my light bag on my shoulder and not cross slung around my body. It could have been an easy grab had the NYC radar not kicked in because we were walking back slowly and enjoying the beautiful summer night.
Menu wasnât descriptive enough. Each item we got had an unlisted ingredient that ruined the dish for us. Good service, great cocktails.
Good food but drinks were pricey and very small.
Nice table on heated patio. Friendly hostess, good service. Food was good. I recommend the burger with bacon jam!!
Overall the meal lacked flavor and balance, dishes either had little or no flavor or too much flavor. The food items just didnât feel refined, Iâve had better quality food in other lower price point restaurants. Not good but not terrible. Nothing to remember.

We’ve been to Timber and Salt several times and just love it. The menu changes regularly and we’ve always enjoyed our meals. Great place!
