Great selection of wines by the glass and bottle. Knowledgeable staff who can provide recommendations based on your preferences. Cute interior that reminds me of a typical small, independent cafe or wine shop in Europe: not super polished interior design but lots of informal charm.
I just don't have enough good things to say about our experience at The BottleShop this evening. I recommend it thoroughly to anyone even halfway considering it.I called to ask a few questions about the place - I spoke to John directly and it turned into many questions and a delightful conversation. My colleagues and I arrived and were immediately seated and served. We each had different wines which complemented our meals perfectly. John served us personally and made excellent recommendations for our experience.I chose the Pairing is Caring starter with my Chardonnay (salmon mousse on a crunchy toast with apple butter and teensy greens - I don't even like salmon and it was the most delicious thing I've had in quite some time) and the Chicken Tikka Masala Potpie. The potpie had a little bit of a kick to it (I'm a complete weenie when it comes to spice, so that's on me) and was served with a side of dressed greens. On their own, the greens would have been too salty, but they were the perfect companion to the Tikka Masala - absolutely perfect.The other diners at my table chose a sparkling wine and a Pinot noir, with the salmon and the beef Wellington, respectively. Both plates were scraped clean by the end of the meal.For what we received (lovely wines, a delightful and welcoming atmosphere, thoughtfully prepared food), the price was surprisingly reasonable.This was a wonderful evening - I can't express enough how much I enjoyed my time at the BottleShop!
Happened to walk past this place after grabbing dinner in downtown Redwood City and saw it was full of people, ended up being such a friendly local experience! The team that runs it is so down-to-earth, willing to take the time to chat about their favorite wines and offer tastings at an unhurried pace. Rare vibe for the Bay Area and one I hope to seek out again soon, highly recommend
Was a tad noisy when I visited but I'm told that unusual. Some very nice wines and an interesting "method champagne" called Marsaghe Franciacorta Premium; fine bubbles, fantastic texture and flavor.
Tonight I treated myself to a food experience. I highly recommend The BottleShop. John and Christian along with Ken were so friendly fand knowledgeable. Christian, the sommelier helped me pick a unique wine to my liking. Chef John created an amazing pairing based on my wine. Ken was just welcoming and helpful. Come experience something different in Redwood City.
This place is a hidden gem. My daughter has lived in Redwood City for almost 2 years and we had not discovered this place. It is simply amazing - the food, the wine, the vibe and the service. We had 3 of the 4 specials and they were all outstanding, especially the pea risotto. I can't wait to go back again.
Friendly staff that is able to help you pick out a wine that you'll enjoy. They are very knowledgeable. I went in to experience wines from around the world and came out with a case of incredible wine at a great price.
Very sub par wine bar. Got seated at the bar and the girl behind the counter handed us the menus. We asked what reds she liked and quickly responds w/"Oh I don't know wine you'll have to ask someone else". What? You work at a wine bar and can't make any recommendations off your menu. The older man behind the counter was also of no use except for drying glasses and drinking wine the whole time. The bar is a mess with dirty glasses everywhere. The disorganized kitchen in full view is weird. The water boiling in the corner drowns out any ambiance. After finishing our glass of wine we ask the older man behind the bar for the check but he doesn't know how to use the machine. Very underwhelming experience.
We've done three wine tastings with food out front of the shop. Wonderful for all. Great wines and excellent food.
Great location, outdoor seating, and fantastic service with an knowledgeable staff and AWESOME selection. Highly recommended for a small group get together or after dinner glass for 2.
