I ordered takeout for Lunar New Year, it was my first with this restaurant and we got the food delivered. Everything was great, our food came on time and no mistake was made . We tried out several items and everything was delicious.

This was great for New Year's Day Since we wanted to take it easy and enjoy Chinese food as a sweet date with my spouse. Plus it felt great to stay safe away from negative or sickness in the world. . We picked up 5 things we ordered and it was all delicious and hot even though we were 6 minutes away driving.
Personally a bit hard to review. I do really like some of their dishes, but I also really didn't like others.Would highly recommend: redwood original spicy noodles soup, water-boiled fish fillets with napa cabbage, fish fillets topped w/black beans garlic and chili, ma po tofu, salt and pepper chicken wings, salt and pepper pork chops, hunan chili pork.Would really not recommend: Szechuan dan dan noodles, chicken chow fun, singapore style fried rice noodles, green onion pancake, walnut prawns.
Five star dishes prepared quick- helpful staff. The broccoli beef, orange peel chicken, Taiwan style fried noodles with pork, chicken chow mein (which they added for free) and potstickers were all excellent 5/5 star dishes. Will order again!
I've passed by this place many many times driving along El Camino but since parking didn't seem easy I never went, plus our family always preferred eating in downtown Redwood City but WHAT a mistake we've been making!!! If you want authentic Sichuan and northern Chinese fare, this is THE BEST place in Redwood City. My husband was skeptical at first when I told him I wanted to try this place tonight, he thought we were going to have another night of American Chinese food (nothing wrong with that), but he literally couldn't stop raving about how amazing everything tasted once we dug our chopsticks in. All the spicey dishes we ordered were the perfect level of numbing tingly goodness married with just the right amount of heat. The ma po tofu was divine! The moment I had the first bite I immediately thought to myself (YES, this is how it's supposed to taste), the redwood bistro specialty noodles were also uniquely flavourful packed with spices and various groceries. Is this as good as some of the restaurants I've been to in Sichuan? Probably not. But this is the best place I've had in the Penninsula. We used to trek out to Oakland for our monthly kick of Sichuan food but all this time we only had to drive 10 minutes to this place. I'm So so glad we finally came here tonight. We are definitely becoming weekly regulars.I wish I had photos to upload but eating everything happened so fast. I also wish I had some baijiu to go with it <3
This place gave me food poisoning worst experience I’ve had in years. For your own safety DO NOT GO!
I have ordered from Redwood Bistro on a weekly basis for months. It never fails to impress. However, it’s important to be aware that they do not accommodate certain intolerances, particularly gluten.
Good quality, good speed. Tried 4 entrees and all were good.
Lovely place. Only complaint was that the wonton chips were very stale but maybe it’s because I went an hour before closing. Shanghai noodles are okay but not enough curry, flavor, or sauce. I HIGHLY recommend the red wood city glazed tofu. It tasted like French toast and was sooo filling and amazing I’d come back just for that alone.
