Arriving a little early, the place was almost empty so I took the opportunity to ask the waiter what he recommends while waiting for my friend. Two minutes later there is food in front of me and I never ordered anything, or so I thought. Fifteen minutes later my friend showed up, the food of course was cold. He then ordered and waited 20 minutes for his food, in between the waiter brought me another dish, the one I actually wanted... The warm food was good, the cold food was meh, the service is clearly suspect.
Good was great! Waiter remembered me from earlier trip and comped taste! He knows how to build a loyal following?
Just had a lovely take out lunch. Goat curry, Chana Masala and Chicken Biryani were all excellent. Order was delivered right on time. Fine Southern India dining.
This is a relatively small place tucked away in a non-descript plaza. Parking is relatively easy. We ordered the paneer Tikka which was exceptional. The accompanying salad with berries on the side was very good. Not just an afterthought, thrown together as is the wont in most restaurants. The dal makhani and Biryani were very good as well. A bit on the hotter side of spicy. I would start at Mild or medium first.Like the recyclable takeout boxes as well.Happy that there is another good option for Indian cuisine in the upper peninsula.
This place is delicious! I'm so happy it's so close to my house. We have ordered:Samosa chaat- omg! It's crispy, savory, just the right amount of spicy. The flavors are a party in my mouth. We are addicted. You must get this! Veg friendly.Butter chicken- this is a little sweeter than the usual chicken tikka masala that you would get at a restaurant, but the flavor is all there and so darn good!Goat curry- don't let the word goat scare you, this dish is legit! The meat is amazingly tender and slow cooked. The sauce is the perfect curry sauce.Veggie Khorma- creamy veggie dish. This is more on the very mild side, but if you want a veggie dish to offset the bold flavors of the other dishes, this does the trick.Masala chai- this is the quintessential Indian chai. I like that you can add your own sugar.Ghobi paneer fry- pieces of cauliflower dipped in a special red spice mix and fried to perfection. You might need to throw it in the toaster oven if it steams on the journey home to revive the crispness. Very good.Masala dosa- this is legit. Spot on. Crisp it up if it gets limp during the ride home. It comes with the 3 traditional chutneys and sambar and they are delightfully authentic. The garlic naan and plain naan were nice sized and all portions were perfect. They don't skimp, so you don't feel like you are getting ripped off.
Packed Paneer Biriyani on our way to Muir Woods and this is perfect stop between San Jose and SF. Great taste not too rich in spice nor bland. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Terrible paneer biryani!Paneer was hard and overcooked. the rice was bland and the fried onions were stale! Not going here again
Intense yummy and spicy Indian food. Delicious flavors. Friendly staff. If you dig Indian food, it's totally worth checking out.
The food absolutely beat my expectations. I have eaten a lot of Desi food in my life and the dosa filling here was probably the best I have had. All of the food was very fresh, something which I was doubtful of when I walked in.
Good Indian food. More of South Indian cuisine. If you are not used to South Indian delicacies, try them. Ask for “mild” spice level. Ordered online, food was ready on time, good service. Nice local neighborhood Indian cafe. Will be back soon.
