Great location and really nice welcoming hotel decor. The lounge and bar area is comfortable to work and/or socialize. Edwin G the bartender was very pleasant and made us some wonderful cocktails from the cocktail menu. Look forward to my next visit!
Hotel is in a excellent location. Edwin G the bartender was very nice and attentive. He introduced us to the menu and made great suggestions. He also offered areas of interest in the vicinity. The other staff seemed very nice as well. Sunsets were also amazing!
Stayed here for one night and it was a decent hotel. The room is spacious, the hotel itself is clean but the washroom is small. The location is more in a business district so it was quiet on the weekend but overall it was a great experience!
Jaime was incredibly helpful when I came to him requesting the hotel restaurant and bar space for a work event. There were about 40 people in attendance, and Jaime ensured that he had 2 awesome bartenders ready for us and a great space to host everyone. He displayed excellent communication leading up the the event, and I really appreciated his customer oriented service. I definitely would reach out to him again for another work event. Thank you Grand Bay!
We celebrated our wedding at the Scroll bar at the grand bay hotel . We enjoyed every moment from the arrangements to service and delicious food . The manager Jaime was helping with everything to have for us an amazing dinner . We are highly recommend to go and have fun at the bar and if you have a special event to celebrate please do not hesitate to do so with Scroll bar. Avi& Joaquín
Not recommended. The facilities are fine overall, as is the location (if you have business in the vicinity anyway; not a good location otherwise). What’s most disappointing is the service. First and foremost, the hotel is still using COVID as an excuse to cut costs. For example, housekeeping now only provided on request, room service delivered in a paper bag with plastic utensils (but at the full cost with exorbitant service charges of course), etc. All the same high prices for everything but can you expect greatly reduced service under the false pretense of COVID safety. The low of my stay was being locked out of my room for over an hour due to a dead battery in the keycard reader on the door. These things happen, but I didn’t get any sort of apology for the inconvenience and was simply told to wait in the lobby until an engineer could come to fix it. A hotel with proper service would have apologized and attempted to compensate with a meal, etc. while I waited or some other token to recognize the significant inconvenience. But nothing like that should be expected if you have an issue during your stay here…PS - the hotel’s coffee is terrible.
We came here for an sports event and this was the Team Hotel location. I read the reviews on Trip Advisor and thank you to those who gave insight on what to look out for during our stay. Front desk service was friendly. Another previous traveler noted that at least 1 elevator door was always open in the lobby, it was a nice touch. Room: Double beds. Who still has double beds in hotels??? Two adults in a double bed just doesn’t work. I thought I could make it work, but I was wrong. I survived the time I had to stay there, but that sealed the deal and I will never stay at a hotel if they only offer double beds. So this is my last stay at Grand Bay. Room was not as clean as they claim. I’m glad I brought my own Clorox wipes and wipe the entire room when we arrived. I could feel the grit and schmeg from previous occupants that the maid service did not obviously wipe any of the surfaces in the room. There is an in-room mini-fridge, which wasn’t mentioned in the website. It’s a small one, holds like a 6 pack of soda. Clean sheets and bed. But be warned, there is no top flat sheet on the bed, only the comforter. Luckily I read this in another review and knew to call housekeeping to bring up extra sheets so I could put those on myself. With their limited staff, housekeeping did come within 30 minutes of my call. Bathroom: Shower handle and diverter spout to the shower head both broke off as I’m trying to take a shower. Had to just use the bottom spout and make the best of that particular shower since I had to be somewhere. Manager had the engineer come within the hour of my call. Though the staff was friendly and helpful as they can, the hotel needs a major renovation for their rooms. We ended having to stay at the Springhill Suites Marriott down the street for one night because I booked it short a day (they wanted $850 for the night) and Marriott was 1/3 of that price, with a hot breakfast included and queen size beds with a sitting room that had a trundle bed on top of that! Hopefully this helps another traveler with their options.
We like this hotel quiet location and relaxed atmosphere. It is nice to walk along the waterfront next to the hotel. It is our second stay and We already booked another visit. There are no stores around, but tgere is a nice restarant inside the hotel and a coffe shop.
This is a nice hotel that is hidden away from the highway but still easy to get to. We really liked the setting of this hotel though it is surrounded by office buildings in Redwood Shores. There is a lake in back of the hotel, we were fortunate to have a room overlooking the lake. The hotel is quiet, guest room is nice size and has good amenities. Restaurant has very good food and is real nice to have instead of going out to restaurants. We hope to stay there again in December.
Cleanliness/fixtures not up to snuff. Nice quiet location though. The restaurant and staff there were nice, however. Not sure if I'll stay here again. Shower drained improperly, causing me to shower in lord knows what.
