The sushi was great. The vegetarian sushis was on the small size and doesn't really make you full. If you're vegetarian, I would skip Akami. Otherwise, normal pricing as what you should expect living in the Bay Area. I got 3 different sushi rolls and paid about $50. Portions are also on the small side.

The rolls here are outstanding! Had the umami roll which had a nice spicy kick and was really well balanced. The 49er roll was bright, fresh, and amazing. We also shared a Moriawase nigiri set which was lovely as well! The miso soup that came with it was spot on. Only feedback I would provide to the chef is to lighten up the soy sauce seasoning on the fish in the nigiri (need only half of what was brushed on) and to make the rice slightly less vinegary. Otherwise, outstanding and we will be back!

We found this place by chance while looking for sushi on the peninsula and it vastly exceeded expectations. Perhaps the best sushi I've ever had. Its a new, small, family run restaurant with a great, laid-back vibe. The bottom line is go now, before it is discovered and impossible to get a table, which will absolutely happen soon. This is a true gem of a place.

Came here for a $89 omakase for lunch.?You need to call 24 hours in advance to reserve for an omakase tasting.?The good: for $89 price the quality is great. Service is good.?The area of improvement: This is probably the saltiest nigiri I have ever had, the soy sauce are almost dripping from the rice ? it is overpowering the fish, truly a pity since the fish and condiments (like yuzu pepper, thinly sliced green onion) taste great.

Best sushi restaurant in Redwood City!Came here with my friend and tried the omakase sashimi here. This restaurant is new opening, environment is pretty, everything is so fresh and tasty!! Highly recommend!! The price is reasonable. I will come back try again soon!- Omakase need to make reservations by phone call one day before you go!-Highly recommend the Arctic char tataki ! It’s good for appetizer!

Well appointed small sushi spot. We really liked the simpler sushi selections. The fish was fresh and beautifully plated.

Great new sushi restaurant. Very creative and yummy rolls! High quality fish. Nice ambiance. Loved it!

Fantastic sushi... Everything was so fresh, and it's rare that shrimp tempura in a roll is so crunchy! *Easily* the best sushi I've had since moving to the city.Plus, the vibe is perfect with the soft background music and natural decor. Get here soon, because this place is going to blow up, and you'll be hard-pressed to get a table during primetime.

Wow! Excellent quality sushi and Japanese food. I had the Hamachi Shot, Miso Sake Kama, and a Spicy Tuna Hand Roll. All were excellent

By far the best sushi I've had in the peninsula. Authentic Japanese style nigiri and fresh fish. Incredible uni!Reasonably priced too!
