Ouch! Wasn't sure if I got rib tips or jerky. Sad to say this FD visit will make me think twice about telling people that this place has good barbecue.To start, the phone order was slow. I almost made it to the restaurant before they finished taking my to go order.Then I needed to order another meal and that went as smooth as sandpaper.The hostess was very personable, however I did not receive any utensils with my TO GO order. Hard to eat a meal at my hotel without forks, etc.My wife is not happy with her catfish, seemed to be overcooked.I'm very glad that I had a hard busy day and decided to purchase a few beers (I probably purchase two 6 packs per year) before I ate my meal. Without the beer I may have thrown my food in the trash

I hate it when people only post negative reviews so I go out of my way to post when the service is awesome. My entire family came here today to celebrate my sons award. We were seated immediately and our server came out and from start to finish this dude was just about the best server we've ever had. He made just the right amount of small talk, he made some great recommendations, he got all the orders right. He was very friendly and even he even congratulated my son on his achievement. Shawn K is the reason we will be back to get some more bbq.

Food was good, but what made it a great experience was the service.I didn't get to take her name down, but she worked in the bar, red hair, I know her family was there that night, she was just on it! Super sweet, on top of the order and just friendly and easy to talk to.Additionally, the young hostess was very sweet too. Looks like she had barely started working there, maybe related to the waitress at the bar?Well at FD's, I'm sure they know who I'm talking about... so to the management team there, kudos on hiring these ladies, exceptional service goes a long way!I'm sure the rest of the team is great as well, this was just my experience with these ladies.
They get a star because no stars is not on option. Our waitress had horrible customer service, she seemed frustrated with the lack of knowledge of their menu my out of state visitors had. Definitely never going to go back, they lost a good customer. Mind you I love Famous Dave's but this location left a bad taste in my mouth.
Famous Dave's Bar B Que is decent.Not the best nor the worst Que we've had.Staff/employees are super friendly and welcoming.Establishment is well kept and food came out hot and fresh.

Colleague and I decided on Famous Dave’s largely because of predictability and location. Sadly, the predictability part is now obliterated. Colleague ordered 4 ribs, I had a two meat (brisket and rib tips) platter. Though colleague didn’t say much about the ribs, I will comment on my platter. The brisket looked microwaved. Seriously, there was zero bark, no taste, and very “meh”. The beans looked - and tasted - like Libby’s, and the rib tips were chewy. They shouldn’t be chewy! I understand that this is not a standalone joint that really specializes in BBQ but honestly I would have gotten a similar meal at Denny’s for less money. The hostess and I misunderstood my request to be seated in the bar, and was offered a table in 10 minutes after checking in. We clarified and ended up in the bar. All in all, not impressed. Maybe it’s a sign of the times.
