Woody's is really good but Woody's is not cheap. A family of 4 and a couple beers is walking out of here over $100. The beer is good and the selection is large. Staff are knowledgeable about all the taps and they will direct you to what you'll like. They are pros on the deep fryer so take advantage of that. The burgers are some of the best around. The specials are always worth a shot. Overall a very nice occasional treat for the family.

After ten hours on the road, we were tired and hungry. Found Woody's and glad we did. Interesting beers and the food was good. Waitress was busy but friendly. We will stop by again if we are ever in Redding.

Ran into a local while visiting Redding downtown for the first time and were recommended to check out Woody's -- so grateful for that because Woody's is so awesome ?. Beer selection is cool, we had Shasta haze / apricot wheat - both delicious. Had jalapeno burger with tots which was phenomenal - the pretzel bun was soft and flavorful and all the layers of meat, veggies, jalapeno were nicely balanced. I would say this is top1 or 2 of burgers in California for me! The tater tots were no ordinary tots - flavorful and nice texture. Would definitely come back if we visit Redding again. So thankful for the friendly local recommendations.

There are a number of good pub type restaurants in Redding, and Woody's is one of them. However, I have had a number of problems with their customer service and I won't be returning. About three months ago my wife and I, and another couple dropped by after a movie. There were several empty tables, but we were told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. We were ok with that and asked the waitress if we could sit at one of the empty tables while we waited. You would have thought we'd asked her to give us her tips for the night. She rolled her eyes and sighed in exasperation and said, "yes, but we won't take your order for 20-30 minutes." Snarky. Though Woody's advertises that they do take out, in reality it's a crap shoot. The last two weeks, I've started calling them at 4:30 on Saturday. Called at least 15 times over a half hour. Only got a recording requesting that I use their on-line ordering. The on line ordering, however, had a message that it was "unavailable." So, tried to be smarter tonight and called at 3:00 PM. I asked If I could do a take out order and pick it up at 5:00 PM. The gentlemen responded that "no, that doesn't work for us, you'll need to call in no more than an hour before you want your order." I explained why this wouldn't be possible, as they don't seem to answer their phone after 4:00 PM. He explained that "We need to take care of our in-house customers." Well, this is one customer he'll never have to take care of again.

Great food and even better beer. Wait staff was really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend. I had the Baltic Porter and the wife had the raspberry wheat, both were really good.

SERVED BEEF TO A VEGETARIAN:I understand that mistakes happen but the way they treated the situation was bad. When I got the burger the patty seemed like an impossible patty, but the way it was cooked was like real meat. I asked my server to confirm if the burger patty was vegan or not. She said that the order was vegan so it should be vegan. After getting the confirmation, it did take a bit (my mother who is super religious waited). It did not taste like a vegan patty to me so I asked the server to confirm with the chef. The chef was already on duty so I asked her to get me a new one. The new burger was definitely a different patty.I asked for the manager and she was not there, asked for the head chef and her response was simply we will take the burger off for you and that mistakes happen. I do agree that mistakes happen but then you also need to respond to the situation correctly. She was not at all apologetic.I did not feel like paying for the other burger that we had, wasn't about the money, my world doesn't change in $15 but that was probably the only thing that I could do, I was already in too much shock. At that point she was really rude to us, trying to make us feel as if it was our mistake that we don't eat beef.

Down to earth friendly environment. Great selection of craft beers. Food=excellent! I had the smokehouse burger and they were real cool about substituting the ghost pepper cheese for the Gouda! Awesome food concepts and awesome on the pretzel bun and the tots were awesome. Our server was great and attentive and can’t wait to go again.

Nice staff and a couple good beers. But didn't grab dinner at some other places because they had calamari on the menu and they were out here :( Would have been nice to know earlier. But the shrimp the substituted were delicious... but now I'm back at my hotel with a salad and wasn't given any utensils with my Togo order and am stuck eating the salad I ordered with a spoon my hotel had.

Not one person including staff wore masks. We were seated at a high top so we were somewhat distanced from other tables, however we still didn’t feel all that safe, especially while server taking our order, delivering our food, and bringing our check. Also a bit uncomfortable as people passed our table with no masks on. We’d love to go back next time we are driving through Redding as the food was great, but will not due to lack of any form of Covid safety protocol. I’d say shame on them. They have so much to offer, but we won’t be back!

The staff was great. Friendly and offer suggestions. If you are vegan, mention it or ask about their secret menu items. I got their housemade vegan burger modified with vegan options. The tots I enjoyed as they are more like a potato pancake consistency (almost mashed texture), but my husband did not like them. If you are expecting the consistency of frozen tots and do not like potato pancakes (like my husband) you will be disappointed by their tots. All 3 beers we tried were good.We got their Berzerker double IPA which was sweeter than I expected with how high of IBU's it was rated. And the Shasta Haze, Hazy IPA which I enjoyed more. We also tried their stout they had because it has a higher IBU (yes I like my beer bitter) than many other stouts (stouts are a hit or miss with me, but when I find one I enjoy I really love them) which I enjoyed, but my husband said it felt too light as far as consistency.
