Honestly, food was good. However definitely It wasnt a typical bbq restaurant that you would go to. Its an order at the counter. No menus other than a board. No kids meals. No fountains drinks. Just costco water and la croix. They had 3 plain tables. Cashiers were nice. We loved the brisket however the bbq sauce while delicious was extremely cold. Mac n cheese was overcooked but pepper taste was good. Overall it was good but when we read the reviews online and looked at the website, we expected a different restaurant experience. Definitely it felt like a to go place.
Visiting Redding downtown and discovered this place by accident (the smell of bbq!) - saw the good reviews and decided to give it a try. Brisket was beautifully smoked and juicy and flavorful, ribs also solid. We also got broccoli salad and slaw, the ????? was amazing... even made someone who doesn't normally eat them asked for more!! Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Would love to visit again if we were in town! (Note: brisket only available on Friday around the time we visited March 2022)
Best BBQ in town! The smoked flavor on the meats is my favorite hands down. Usually it’s hard to choose between the brisket, pulled pork and chicken so I just get it all and have meat for the week. ? this is making me hungry ?
OMG,this place has the best brisket I ever had, randomly found this place when I was on vacation in Redding,as a huge meat lover, I could eat their brisket 1bl easily, better be there early after 2pm you may only get chicken.Amazing amazing，amazing

Great barbecue and friendly service. As someone who grew up in the south, I always heard that a barbecue place without cornbread and banana pudding was unlikely to be good barbecue, but that was not the case with Odell. The pulled pork sandwich and potato salad were both fantastic. Great sauce. Will definitely come back when I’m in Redding again.

Best BBQ ever! They made the food for my twins first bday party and everyone loved it. My aunt who doesn’t like red meat even raved about the tritip. They even cleaned up after we ate, amazing service!
A gem of a stop, well worth the space in your stomach when you're hungry in Redding.Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their meat. Looks like they've taken some inspiration from Horn Barbeque.It's not quite as heavy or smokey as ol' fashioned Texas BBQ, but it's got heaps of flavor. Might even describe it as delicate, but don't confuse that with healthy. They use some good cuts of well-marbled fatty brisket here and I could definitely feel that BBQ nap sneaking into me an hour later. Would highly recommend getting it as a sandwich so you can get that acidity from their slaw and pickles.The sides are also no joke. I'm glad they sell the honey butter rolls in two, because I can't imagine having just one and being content. Lemon squares here are also a treat when you want something sweet and acidic to cleanse the palate after a good plate of meat.There's only street parking and staff mentioned that the city rarely ever checks, but best you keep an eye out on the outside table for if and when a meter maid pops up.
